About Me

Well hello there!

I'm a 26 year old guy from Norway taking some time off before finishing my master's degree to seek inspiration and both inner and societal understanding. Just moved back to Bergen for work, and I'm doing online studies as well.

The past few years forced me into rethinking what freedom is to me, and it got me started on this new kind of journey. I'm learning to live and love life in new ways, and I'm super grateful to be on a path now where I am discovering and exploring more spiritual and philosophical values.

Coming from perhaps an unusually cross cultural background and past, I consider myself a very open person, curious about all human beings, beliefs and truths.

I love food and flavours, people and genuine connection, languages, exploring cultures different from my own and, of course, travelling. These are also the reasons I started couch surfing!

Otherwise, I'm trying to stay present; appreciate the here and now, the little things and the lessons that can be found within challenges if you are willing to look beyond.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The main reason is to meet kind and interesting people and share experiences with them. There is also a lot of local experience, opportunities and knowledge that comes with surfing in private homes, as well as a shared, generous and open attitude most people on this platform have.

I'm also a student usually traveling on quite a limited budget, but I consider the monetary aspect of CS as a secondary reason; a super convenient consequence to be grateful for.

Interests

Huge fan of nature, views and fresh air and the presence that offers. Mostly into the outdoor activities, like hiking (I'm the weirdo who will walk barefoot in the mountain) and especially rock climbing. I would love to go with you! Inside bouldering is okay too 💪🏼

I also have a newfound love of ecstatic dance and the music that comes with it. I enjoy other dance too though, like salsa! 🕺💃

Music, Movies, and Books

I like most genres and any chill music, and I'm still a sucker for fantasy books. Recently started getting into more philosophical and critical literature.
I'll watch almost any movie, and I really enjoy going to the cinema, but preferably I'll see something I haven't seen before.

I love Studio Ghibli movies, these I can watch over and over.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've been told that I'm good at teaching, especially norwegian. Guess I could teach you English and German as well, but I'm also looking to perfect them myself. I would love to learn other languages too!

Perhaps we could discuss and learn some interesting things from what I'm currently studying; organic farming?

We could have some fun with improv, especially if we are some more people! I could teach you some games and we can just goof around, make fools of ourselves and have some proper laughs.

I would feel comfortable taking less experienced people climbing/bouldering. Especially indoors wouldn't be an issue. I've been doing it for a few years now, so I should be able to teach you the basics.

I'm very open, and so I can talk about basically all the more personal and real stuff. These are the conversations that I feel create true, genuine connection between people, even strangers. I absolutely love that.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I offer real friendship from the first meeting, if you are open to it.

I can offer good company and be someone with whom you can discuss thoughts that you might be keeping to yourself a lot. I'm super into exploring our inner truths, critical views and addressing and questioning controversial topics. I'm not a person that judges peoples minds and I love hearing what people who have been truly thinking about something have to say about it. Share it with me. Let it out, and let's both find some understanding through it!

I love cooking, especially with others, and sharing meals and culinary experiences with people who appreciate those things. We could also just share some moments in silence, like watching the sunset and enjoying a cup of tea.

I offer humour and an easy going, solution oriented attitude too.

When I'm available I'll always gladly help with any practical stuff; cleaning, carrying, watching your pets or kids etc. I will also gladly join you on YOUR adventures, hang out with your friends, or, of course, leave you alone, if that's what you need.
