About Me
Hi!
The main thing about me (as for right now, hah) is that I'm an exchange student from that huge blob on the map people call Russia, from the melancholy city of St.Petersburg specifically, trying my hardest to see as much of the USA as I can.
My major (if that's important) is communications and media art, and that basically means that I don't really do anything important or useful, but know some fun interesting stuff.
I absolutely love cinematography, music from the 60's-70's and modern art history, but don't have any systematic knowledge about either of these things.
My favorite way of exploring new places is getting lost and finding my way out (at least, that's how it usually goes).
I'm a little bit shy, but once I get used to my surroundings I can almost maintain a conversation :)
Also, just FYI, I'm queer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I feel like Couchsurfing is as close as it gets to traveling around the world and having family everywhere you go - locals are the best people to stay with when you want to look the city right in the eyes.
Also, my curiosity about the world is much bigger than my budget, so Couchsurfing is a good way of managing that.
Interests
- modern art
- cinematography
- cinéphile
Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite musicians are either quite dead or somewhere deep in Brooklyn :)
Well, not exactly, Bob Dylan is alive and well and not all indie bands are from New York.
I love cartoons with all of my heart, but also enjoy artsy kind of films.
Paolo Sorrentino's "The Great Beauty" is a movie I've seen like a thousand times, Michele Gondry's "Mood Indigo" is one of my favorites too, loved Jim Jarmusch's "Paterson".
The more classic ones would be Alfred Hitchcock's "Birds", Wim Wenders's "Alice in the Cities" and Roman Polanski's "Rosemary's Baby".
(Did I say I love movies yet?)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Well, Iast year I filled out an application form for an exchange program just for fun, went through the competitive selection process for kicks, and here I am in America.
Apparently, I'm "talented youth", but I still think it was just a fluke.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm a decent cook and an enthusiastic baker, so I can save you a couple of hours of kitchen hell (if you want me to).
Also, I knit a lot, so there's a good chance I'll leave you with a pair of warm socks :)
