About Me

Hi! ☀️
It's so great that you're here. I'm Val

Bubbly personality, I've been called the best friend somebody could ever have and the ever smiling girl. Also "sexy mama" but that was an isolated occasion.

Been singing my whole life but began getting paid for it at age 18, it's been a dream!
I'm also an actress, dancer, model, multi instrumentalist on the making. I'm seriously looking to pursue a BFA in Drama, Musical Theater; Tisch at NYU or as a part of the Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation scholarship would be amazing.
Been toying around with photography and graphic design, you can check out my work, both singing and designing on IG @pinknoiseband

Bilingual in English and Spanish but could understand Portuguese, French and Italian if I try hard enough. Becoming a polyglot is one of my ultimate goals. I could also tell you the colors in Japanese, introduce myself in American Sign Language and sing you one song in Russian

Been living in Mexican paradise (Cabo) since 2000
Eager to explore and meet new people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I enjoy meeting new people, learn about their upbringing, culture, hopes and dreams. I'm convinced that being inclusive could save the world from violence and racism, as they're expressions coming out from a place of fear and disinformation, the more someone opens their mind and allow themselves to listen, learn and become involved; the less aggressive their going to feel towards a community. That's why spreading my culture and learning as much as possible from others is of utter importance to me.

I've always been eager to travel, last year I found about digital nomads and the AMAZING Sorelle Amore, reading her stories around the world, watching her videos made me want to explore as soon and as much as I can. I constantly find myself watching videos from backpackers around the world getting into the craziest adventures on a low budget, I think that is suitable for me.

As of today, let me share with you that I'm kind of in the middle of planning a HUGE trip by myself. It all started when early this year I found myself in the middle of an existencial crisis where I just wanted to leave! So... I impulsively booked a one way flight to Chicago. Nothing fancy, just visiting some friends and celebrating the birthday of one of them. Remember I told you that I LOVE musical theater? Naturally one of my all time dreams is to visit New York City (and Broadway of course) but the plane tickets from Cabo are waaaaaay to expensive, but what about from Chicago? I looked it up, its so cheap that I'm about to buy them. But it doesn't end there, no no no. I played with fire and now I'm burning (with excitement) because I looked up tickets to London and they are at a price so affordable I couldn't have ever imagined it was possible!! So form NYC I'm planing to go to London, and the tickets I'm seeing allow you to stay a night in Lisbon, Portugal and then a 1hr overlay in Porto, Portugal. Being in Europe everybody knows that is a MUST to visit more than one place so I'm also looking on the possibility of visiting France and then celebrate my birthday in Madrid! IS SUCH A GREAT PLAN! and all I need is reassurance and emotional support 😂😂 (Imgonnadoit imgonnadoit Imgonnadoit).

Music, Movies, and Books

I've got a well organized Spotify account.
Musically I'm going through a peculiar phase. Artist of the top of my head:
Tom Misch, John Mayer, H.E.R., Lianne La Havas, Bruna Caram, Jessie J, Tori Kelly, Ariana Grande, Dua Lipa and the all time favorites Fitzgerald and Sinatra. QUEEN! How could I forget about Queen 🙌💖

Movies:
Anything time traveling themed, Musicals, Comedies, DISNEY!, Sci-Fi.

I'm actually more prone to watch series so here are my top 5:

1. Being Erica
2. Orphan Black
3. Castle
4. How I met your mother (Over Friends because... well, NPH)
5. Forever (Although it was cancelled)

I read a lot of books in my junior high years, most of them were YA novels not worth mentioning, but reading is a habit I intend to reincorporate.

The Secret Keeper - Kate Morton (Novel)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

So far; My family and I went on a road trip through the bajas, from Cabo all the way to Las Vegas. The rural sights of the road were endearing and the companionship, priceless.

Last year I bought a ticket to Colombia on a whim... IT WAS AMAZING! Didn't stay to long, plus I feel like it was cheating since I flew the same dates as my work partner... So I wasn't completely alone.
Feel like I need to visit a place where I don't know anybody and befriend as many people as I can. Maybe even backpacking through the world! Coming soon...

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: About Mexican culture, Spanish language, reinforcement of English language, could help improve your vocal skills if your interested in singing, I've been experimenting with vegan cuisine as well as desserts so If that's something you're into I could share something about that, unless you know more about it than I do then... I'd be happy to learn. (I'm not vegan)

I can share: My experiences meeting and working with many Colombians as well as what I've learned about their culture.

Been told I bring peace to people whenever they share their troubles with me, so be sure that I'm always there to lend you an ear.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I've been hosted many times by friends before and I can assure you that I understand the importance of being a great guest.
I'd be keeping my area clean and neat, taking as little space as possible, and try my best to arrive at decent hours.
