About Me

If I don't answer on CS do not hesitate to write me on instagram, I am quicker haha : @valloup974

Hello :), I'm french. I am accountant an professional pianist in Paris.
So, I love to travel and meet up with new people to share cultures because I find it important to know the world better :)
I'd say that I'm curious and open minded, loving to discuss various topic with everyone.
I'm keen on helping people, and my friends usually say that I'm pretty funny (maybe they are just being nice, who knows?) :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think it is fun to meet new people and new cultures, especially other travellers with whom to share experiences through conversation.

And this new way of meeting people is very good to get to know every country better. So this is why I look forward to meet people from CS :).

Interests

I know there are a lot of interests haha. But frankly I do a lot.

I play the piano since I am 2years old, I love hanging around in all sorts of nice places, listen to good music in a concert hall or in a bar, meeting foreigners to learn from them their culture.
I love to discover new places, to do trekking, go to the cinema, visit museum, and read.
I did 2 years of magic classes, 4 years of boxing thai, and 4 years of salsa dancing.

I almost forgot the football ! how could I ? lol Yes I am a huge fan of football too, I've been playing 10 years in a club.
But the main thing will remain the travels haha

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Only one ?! Well, we have a lot in memory but... ok just one haha.

this is a incredible story.

We were in bali with my girlfriend and we were about to go back from besakih temple to ubuud. It was 10pm and it was dark. To picture you, there is one our and 30minutes from one point to another.

We drove about 20 minutes in the dark on a small scooter and our back tire popped. So, alone in the dark with no lights (exept our phone). We were a bit pissed but we believed that we could succeed lol.

So a car passed by and stopped, and the guy didn't speak english but try to make calls and explain us with gesture. Another guy passed by, he spoke english and told us that there were a village not far that had maybe a motor garage. He took the popped tire scooter and gave us his scooter.

We followed him to the first village, and while he was looking for the garage, we saw that there was a class of music. The balenese folks invited us to play with them, amazing. we learned how to sound the bell on those iron blades and with the good rythm.

Finally our saviour, his name is bayu went back and told us that the garage was on the other village. So we said goodbye to the people and followed him.

We arrived at the second village and there was like a small party, it was the friends of bayu making music. So they invited us to eat, to drink with them, we were so lucky ! I saw that there was a cajon (small box that you sit on and you can play rythm on it, like a drum ), so I asked if I could play for them and with them. And we started to play, sing and laugh together. Magical moment. I took a deck of cards, and did magic for the kids.

It was 11.30 when bayu told us to follow him to the garage. There, two guys pulled out the tire, and replace it by a new one. They looked after the scooter, refill everything, and told us If we wanted to stay for the night. We couldn't unfortunately.

We went back to the village, made a last song with every one, thanks them really warmly and drive back to Ubud where our Hotel was. the funny thing is that we arrived at 1am, and we had to wake up at 2 because we had a trek on the mount batur vulcano... HAHA we were dying but, that was a hell of a night...

We kept contact with Bayu, and he is now a good friend.

Teach, Learn, Share

I guess travel would be the main thing to share knowledge about :) And travel includes cultures of the world, including their sociological landscape, their religion, and not less importantly their music and their food :) which makes every place and people unique, dont you think ?
