About Me
Sveiki, fellow Couchsurfers!
My name is Valters, but you can call me Dumpling, for obvious reasons (which aren’t so obvious at all) :D
I’m a student who uses my free time to travel and meet new people. Or meet people I already know… a bit boring, I guess, but hey, happens :)
I love good company, late-night conversations, and making the most out of life wherever I go. Some days that might mean sightseeing and checking out that kebab place around the corner, other days, it’s a quiet drink and a game of cards (or a chess match, if you’re brave). :P
I’m an active and curious person: volleyball keeps me moving, the gym keeps me disciplined, and poetry helps me slow down when life gets too fast. I’ll happily join for a night out, a walk through the city, or just a good talk over coffee. Singing might happen too — but I can’t promise quality, only enthusiasm. :D
As a guest, I’m clean, respectful, and easy to have around — I know your home isn’t a hostel, and I won’t treat it like one. If you need a hand with anything, I’m more than happy to help. :)
I travel to meet people, share stories, and create memories that aren’t just photos on a phone.
So if you’re into deep talks, sharing laughs, and maybe a surprise chess game after a few drinks, we’ll get along great. ❤️
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing, to me, is a way to meet cool people, share amazing stories, and make life-long friends.
It’s about sharing the travel experience with somebody.
I could just book a hotel and spend my travels alone — but where’s the fun in that?
I’d rather swap stories over dinner with a local, learn something new about a place I never would’ve discovered on my own, and maybe even make a friend for life.
For me, it’s not just about a couch — it’s about connection, kindness, and (hopefully) a few laughs along the way.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music🎵
I quite enjoy heavier music, like rock and metal, some of my favourite bands and artists include Rammstein, Sleep theory, Motionless in White, Jutes.
But of course, if you put on 2000's white girl music, I'm on the dance floor going crazy :D
Movies📽️
Guess I like Drama, horror and comedies, what a combination am I right? :)
Would recommend: The king, Sinister, the office,
But my absolute favourite one is the dead poet society.
Books📚
A book I would recommend to anyone is David Goggin's: Can't hurt me
I can honestly say it changed my life, made me more active, focused, and disciplinned.
Ofc I'm a potterhead too, the books > the movies :P
Still haven't gotten around to reading some classics like crime and punishement or animal farm, look forward to doing that when I'm not Couchsurfing and got a bit more time on my hands :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Would love to learn more about hosts local area, countries culture and personal life and stories.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Host's hospitality is greatly appretiated so don't think you are getting away without trying some of my favourite Latvian snacks and drinks, learning a couple of sentences in my language and listening to what life is like where I am from :)
