About Me

***I'm fully vaccinated against COVID-19***

I'm an audiovisual journalist, but also an actress and a teacher. I love meeting new people while doing social or voluntary work, that's what I'm trying to do with my life right now.

I'm currently living in Tanzania, I have co-founded an NGO that works with community-driven storytelling to tell stories about nature and culture made by the people that lives in those territories.

I love learning new things, but at the same time I love sharing and teaching anything I can. I don't use this platform that much, but I think it's a good way to meet new people and learn about cultures, and maybe make some future travel buddies.

Yeah, the word "love" it's really used on my profile, you can call me hippie, but I love life and I live for love (not romantically, I just like sharing my love and happiness with the world).

If you want to know more about me, you can find me on social media like @vanesarmiento97

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I climbed the highest peak of Africa (Kilimanjaro, Tanzania) to make an adventure documentary.
I went to the carnival in Brazil (Salvador de Bahia) and danced with random people in the street.
I went to Día de los Muertos (day of the death) in Mexico and lighted up candles for the souls.
I presented a play in an off-broadway teather in New York.
I made a documentary with Farc ex-combatants in Colombia.
I slept in a houseboat in the middle of the Peruvian Amazon jungle.
I went to visit the Uros indigenous community in the Titicaca lake.
I went to the Mayan and Aztec pyramids and to Machu Picchu.
I ended up in an Indian wedding in Tanzania after dancing with random people that I saw on the street.
I left my job, house, partner and family to achieve my dream of travelling the world.
I cofounded an NGO in Tanzania that has now impacted more than 100 storytellers around all Africa and made more than 40 short films in a participatory approach.
I have worked with the Hadzabe, one of the last hunter-gatherers in the world.
I have swum with 8m long Whalesharks, with dolphins, manta rays and whales.
I participated in a ritual of passage with the Maasai Culture.
I got temporarily married twice.
I fell in love with life. And that's the most incredible thing.
