About Me

*I am new here, I'm attempting to add friends who are part of the community and maybe get a reference or two as I understand that this is important. I'm sorry about this!*

Hello there, I'm 23 years young and I was raised in big old London town, but come from a Portuguese farming family, so I have been lucky enough to experience the best of both worlds! I studied Law but currently take care of children, the world moves in strange ways and I'm just going a long for the ride!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would eventually love to host people when I move back to Europe, but right now my living situation unfortunately doesn't permit me to host anyone. I've always thought of myself as a n adventurous person and I guess I'm here to meet like minded people who want to share there story and a little bit of there lives with me.

Right now I'll be travelling around the States as my final goodbye to this crazy country and get to visit some places I've always been curious about, so I would be grateful for anyone's help in discovering new things.

Music, Movies, and Books

It's hard for me to choose just one, but I was very influenced by two styles of music growing up, Fado (which is a Portugese traditional music style, search Ana Moura and Mariza for a modern interpretation of this kind of music) and 80's rock. My Father loved his ACDC, Led Zeppelin and Bruce Springsteen to name a few, and I've pretty much stuck with it growing up.
Good Will Hunting, Forrest Gump, The Shawshank Redemption and The Truman Show are movies I could watch again and again. That and I'm also prone to a few Disney movies.
Tolstoy is one of my favourite authors, and I also appreciate Orwell too. I do like to read poetry, anything from Shakespeare to Frost is pretty great.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I wish I could jot down jumping of a plane, or climbing the Himalayas but I unfortunately haven't had the opportunity to do either. I guess for me, I have moved out of my childhood home twice now, and gone it alone in two different countries away from my parents, that was definitely quite a challenge, and something I'm proud of surviving.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am always willing to share my love of all different types of gastronomy, and if anyone is looking for someone to teach them Portuguese I can sure as hell help! I've been lucky to travel through a lot of Europe so I am more then willing to share my experiences and must see places. I think the most important thing we can share with another is laughter and a good time :)
