About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To live is to write and to write you have to live.
Travel to write, write to live, live to travel.
ABOUT ME
Let me introduce myself, my pen name is VanWolffen, I love stories and I am a an international business drop out, after much effort I found my true passion to be traveling and writing and decided to focus my life around that.
It's been over six years since I am in a relationship with my lovely and wonderful girlfriend Haideé, with whom I share and seek new adventures and projects especially to travel the world.
Being the eldest son by 11 years has not been an easy task, we are three brothers and have one little sister, I live with them caring and loving them very much.
PHILOSOPHY.
Imagination is the only limit.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet new friends and learn about places and cultures. I am barely begining to actually use this site, since my girlfriend and I have talked about doing a trip together trough the world but until she left to study we had not taken it so seriously, with a bit of fear and lots of excuses. So here we are, first time actually using this site.
Interests
I love stories, I love to read, write, play, listen, watch, remake, all sort of stories. I like dancing with my girlfriend, salsa and tango; I like animation, american, french, canadian, japanese, anykind; I love to read books, especially fantasy and historical fiction; I like comic books, and graphic novels. Oh and videogames.
I like to listen to jazz, blues and rock. The first for inspiration, the second for traveling the third for fun.
I love dancing Salsa, Tango and Banda with my girlfriend. But I also like to sing and "no canto mal las rancheras" or in English, I don't sing badly mexican folk.
I like traveling and driving, though not that much in the city.
Finally I find people fascinating. To meet new people, get to know them and make new friends.

Music, Movies, and Books
Favorite books would be Dresden Files "Changes" by Jim Butcher,
then "Good Omens" by Terry Pratchet and Neil Gaiman;
after that, "Name of the Wind" by Patrick Rothfuss,
and last but not least, "Two Serpents" Rise and "Three Parts Dead" by Max Gladstone, part of the Craft Sequence series.
Also I am from a town (well not exactly from, but I feel it is my cultural birthplace) called San Gabriel, that is the place where Juan Rulfo is from, and so as such he became one of my inspirations as a writer, his works "El llano en llamas" and "Pedro Paramo" (my favorite).
Favorite music, Jazz, blues and rock.
Favorite songs....You know that is one of the hardest and changing questions...I love Shine by Mr. Big, Saturday Night by Bon Jovi, music from my country, I love to sing to José José songs and Vicente Fernandez, Juanga is a must, Latin Music I love Joaquin Sabina, Serrat, Andres Calamaro, and obviously the salsa queen, Celia Cruz...speaking about Queen....
Favorite movie, so many, but the ones I don't get tired of watching, the first three Indiana Jones, Back to the Future, The Dark Knight and V for Vendetta (even if it is quite criticised and barely related to the graphic novel)...OH OH OH, yeah I love anything made by Edgar Wright. (scott pilgrim, and the Cornetto Trilogy)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I traveled two months trough 60 schools, rurals and urban, in the state of Guanajuato, Mexico, working as an actor, I played the role of an astronaut, teaching kids the importance of finding their talents, developing them, and finally take action by studying what they like the most; I was travelling with a troupe of eight people, six actors, a producer and a staff. We were divided in three areas, Technology and engineering, human sciences and arts, and life and environment sciences, in my area we played a game and I gave them an speech to inspire them to learn sciences related to technology and engineering. I learned so much in that trip, about myself, about my country and about, well people in general after a moment in my life in which I had lost hope for humanity.
Teach, Learn, Share
I know a bit of hypnosis especially for relaxation, because I am a writer and because of that, I like to know and learn about the human mind, peoples feelings, and their history.
I like to share stories about my trip with my troupe. Listen to other peoples stories and learn anything they would like to share.
I am passionate about my interests and like to talk about them, I like to share my stories, come up with new stories with new people.
I speak spanish and english, and I am no stranger to cooking. My favorite professional subjects are Economy, Marketing, international commerce, and should have studied anthropology.
