ABOUT ME

I like to describe myself as a metal philosopher because, somehow, almost all of my interests can be construed as related to metal (construed broadly to include an aesthetic theory) or philosophy (or both).

PHILOSOPHY

I think that it has something to do with doubting conventional wisdom, maximizing pleasure and minimizing pain. That's a gross oversimplification, though.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Although I can't host at the moment, I plan on contributing by making good conversation if and when I crash on your couch.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had more experience hosting people than sleeping on others' couches, although I might do that after a long night and a few beverages. One time, I had about five people crash in my one-bedroom apartment and nobody even had to sleep on the floor; I'm particularly proud of that.

Interests

Metal, obviously, although I listen to a lot of other kinds of music; I'm also interested in history, philosophy, horror literature, film, crazy advanced physics that I don't properly understand and cats. Cats are by far the most complicated. Also, I consider myself a connoisseur of beer.
