About Me

print("Hello Couchsurfing.com")

My name is Vedanth and I'm an undergraduate who is working in Lisbon for a few months. I'm from the very diverse nation and hot nation of India.
Cliche incoming. I like to travel. But what is unique to me about travelling is that it allows you to meet new people and see different places. I'm a massive history nerd, so I like to view cities from a more historical perspective. One of my favourite things to do in a city, is to close my eyes and imagine what it would have been like several 100 years ago. The people, the atmosphere, the buzz. And soak it all in and make a mental image.

I'm currently pursuing my undergrad degree in Science (Math and Biology mainly). And I aim to go ahead and become a teacher when I "grow-up". As a result love exchanging ideas and having deep and (often) meaningless conversations. I'm also quite the geek, and like/watch/read anything under the sun!

I'm someone who quizzes competitively, so you can be sure there'll definitely be interesting conversation during the stay.

How about we discuss more in person? :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

How else do I appease my overly extroverted nature. Haha!

Nah! What's really cool is the fact that you can go to cities around the world and stay with people who are so remarkably cool. Couchsurfing gives me a great opportunity to make new friends.

I look forward to it!

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite book is Animal Farm by George Orwell. Bloody good read!

I'm a big rock fan. My Spotify playlist includes a lot of Pink Floyd, Led Zep, Queen, Beatles etc. Also a big fan of folk music too.

Favourite movie? It's quite hard to choose one I guess.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I honestly don't think I've done anything amazing enough. Sadly.

I have been to Wimbledon though. That was cool.

Oh. I got super drunk once and fell head first into a red ant nest. It was quite difficult to explain it to the doctor the next day. Not really an amazing feeling, but a great story.

Teach, Learn, Share

Love to learn. Want to teach in the future maybe.

Here's a fact : You can't lick your elbow. If you tried it after reading this and are surprised, you're welcome.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'd love to help out with making dinner and having a nice meal and conversation.

I'm also someone who HATES a mess, so I'm not going to mess up your place and leave.

Be assured that I'll ask you TONNES of questions about the city, where to visit and any local tips. And I'll also love to share stories about your country of origin and your travel experiences. I make horrible jokes and love sharing bizarre stories. I can also manage with little sleep (one of the advantages of embarking on a career in pure science), so I can often stay up quite late. Which is great if we are having very interesting debates or conversations.

I will also help you plan a trip to India if you haven't been (you should!) and I am definitely willing to, if asked to explain random scientific articles that you might have seen on the internet, and wondered if it's actually true. I make bad puns. You have been warned. :P

And I'll definitely buy and love to share a beer!
