A quick introduction. My name is Veerle Clous, I'm living my life now for 19 years. I'm open for a lot of new experiences and adventures. I love to meet new people and cultural aspects. The language of Indonesia is on my to do/to learn list.... I'm a student on the University of Arts Utrecht (HKU) and I'm studying Art and Economics. I hope to work in the event branche one day when I finished my study and would like to experience as much as possible as an inspiration for the concepts of my events and personal way of life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm going to Indonesia for 4 weeks and I'm looking for awesome people who can guide me to the most beautiful and exotic places of Indonesia. Especially on Bali, Lombok and Java (Yogyakarta and Poerworedjo). I'm flying on Bali on the 8th of August and would like to find a nice place to start my journey. I'm going to Indonesia because of my background. My mom's side of the family is Indonesian and I always loved the food and the kindness they've teached me. They come from Purworejo, Java. So if it's on my way, a visit would be a cool experience.

Music, Movies, and Books

Me love me some techno, deep house, hiphop, ambient, low-fi, beach house, jazz/soul, 70's/80's music and disco. I love to watch series on Netflix like Suits, New Girl, Modern family, That 70's show, and more. It depends on what mood I'm in.
The movies like are super divers. From action like Ocean's eleven till thirteen, to comedies like Mac and Devon go to high school and What happens in Vegas. But also documentaries like Blue planet/Life, Explained, Amy, Minimalism and more.
It would not bother me to watch a little horror movie too (;

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

+ The most beautiful place I've went was in Elafonissos, Crete, Greece. The most beautiful turquoise sea with a beach in the middle and a huge bay. I went snorkeling there and saw some awesome fish, crabs, shells and landscapes onder water.
+ I jumped of a 20 meter high bridge in Tuscany, Italy.
+ I always dive into every water I see, does not matter which temperature.
+ I've done it a thousand times, but connecting people is one of my favorite pursuits. Network is everything.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd loveeeeeee to learn the Indonesian language. Also to better my English will be a goal of my journey. I love to dance and like to learn more dance cultures and moves. Also some efficiencies in the way to live would brighten my way of looking to the world. I'd love to share, but more to learn.

My experiences and stories about The Netherlands and my will to learn. Also to share opinions about the world, politics, culture diversity and life. My personal way is to live in the moment. In Dutch we say 'Je moet je eigen slingers ophangen'. This means that to make something turn into positivity, it's in your own hands.
