About Me

CURRENT MISSION

get finished with my studies in rome so i can get back to dingle ;p try to have a bit of fun in the meantime

ABOUT ME

sorry, moved back to ireland. rome couch no longer available. if you want to message me, please message me at my irish profile as i wont regularly be checking messages here. thanks!

YOU CAN SEE MY PROFILE, DETAILS, FRIENDS AND REFERENCES AT kaybee78. I made this new profile for the time I am living in Italy for the next 8 months studying...i didnt want to delete all my ireland details and radically change the profile since ill be going back there in 8 months anyway. You can have a look there to see my full profile, friends, references, and details. :)

Im currently studying in Rome and am in the beginning stages of developing a doctoral thesis proposal that I hope will contribute towards encouraging more compassion for animals, which I hope will particularly be able to influence the Catholic/Christian churches. I dont consider Rome my home, just a temporary but necessary stop-off. Ive been living on the Dingle Peninsula in Dingle, County Kerry, Ireland for the past few years and I'm totally in love with the Dingle Peninsula, particularly "back west" of Dingle, and I have come to realize that i have a dream of owning land there and starting an organic permaculture fruit and veg farm and perhaps a vegan business...but the purchase of land has proved frustrating and impossible thus far :( I love the earth, simple natural things and natural beauty, other creatures, the rain/mist (though i sure am appreciating the italian sun at the moment :) ), and random adventurous opportunities that sometimes emerge out of life. I have an immense love for and sensitivity to non-human creatures and cannot comprehend how human beings choose to routinely leave them out of the circle of compassion :(

trying to enjoy the diversion of italy at the moment even though i miss my clean irish seas and amazing views. view is pretty amazing from the great rooftop terrace of my apt here though, and its lovely that it too is by the sea.

PHILOSOPHY

affection and compassion for all of creation and a desire for the health and abundance of the world. (end of quote should be attributed to Wendell Berry)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

mainly hosting. i have a dog and a tight budget and either grad school or job and gardening obligations, depending on what country im living in, so i dont couchsurf much.

i was much more able to host when i lived in ireland than here...feel free to ask, but be aware that im not often able to host at my current location. thanks : )

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Interests

organic gardening--and seeking ways to grow the most nourishing plants and herbs possible, sustainability, (vegan) raw foods, compassion for animals, herbalism/alternative medicine/nutrition, natural horsemanship, doing "cheeky" stuff if I think I can get away with it (or actually more often it happens when it doesnt occur to me that its "cheeky" at the moment and I think Im just acting "normally"...then I get amused at myself later...), spirituality, making and feeding people great vegan food, walking/hiking/OUTDOOR stuff in general, beaches, discussions and learning from people, photography, messing around and playing with my dog...encouraging her to be a pain and annoy people in an amusing way ;p

Teach, Learn, Share

hmmm. i know some about gardening and nurturing plants, but would love to learn more. i know a fair amount about horses, but would like to learn more about natural horsemanship. i have done a fair deal of self-study and research on diet and nutrition, to the point where my friends ask me for advice about those things... i would LIKE to learn irish...lol...but i dont seem to have the discipline! I have also deeply studied (both in school and personally), some areas of Catholic theology and found there to be much beauty and truth there that I think is often unknown or overlooked. Something else that I am very interested in learning more about is natural healing methods and alternative medicine. and... I would love further education in random spontaneous fun ideas/activities ;p would love to learn how to surf too... but i dont have a board.
