I make sure I respond to every CS-request I get (except for the standard-requests that were obviously just copy-pasted...).

CURRENT MISSION

Getting out of my head and into my body. Or, in other words: trying to live more from my heart instead of from my head. It's nice to find people who do the same. Knowing I'm not the only one on this (sometimes) rough road called "life", is a nice feeling.

This may sound very serious, and it is, but on the other hand, I find it very important to have fun, to laugh, and just enjoy the journey, instead of only focusing on one goal.

ABOUT ME

I did so many things (job- and study-wise). Now I'm trying to relax more, to slow down a bit since I became very tired of the high speed of our society.

I'm a young, active, openminded, friendly and cheerful woman. I don't eat meat (or fish of chicken) and try to avoid everything that involved animal suffering in one way or the other... It would be nice if you don't bring meat into my home.

PHILOSOPHY

If you do what you've always done - you will get what you've always got.

Thoughts become things... Choose the good ones!

All that has the nature of arising, also has the nature of cessation.
Impermanence... I have it on my arm. As a reminder.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I met some interesting people from CS somewhere in 2006 maybe, in the Viavia in Antwerp. It was really fun and I got a lot of advice on travelling...

We've had our first guests a few weeks later and it was really fun!Now I'm really excited to meet more people from all over the world!! "We", that was then. Now it's just me (and my two sweet dogs). After a while of "non-active-couchsurfing"- I'm really willing to put my (small) home and couch open for some cs'ers ;-)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The weekend of the 25th of July (2006) was the best "Couchsurfersweekend" so far! We've had 3 really nice guests: Hannah from Korea and Laurie and Kyle from the States (sorry: California and Delaware :-)). They were sooooo nice! For us the weekend was just perfect. We've had a really great time and are so happy that we've learned to know 'Couchsurfing'. It's just great!

In october 2007, we left Belgium for 6 months. We traveled to Peru, Guatemala, Mexico, New York, Cambodja, Vietnam, Laos, Hong Kong... We met a lot of realy nice people on the way and were able to CS in some cities. No better way to learn to know a country than by knowing its people!

Interessen

Like to run and dance (salsa), like to read, go for a drink with friends, walking with my dogs, meet other people from different cultures and learn something about the way they live and the way they deal with life, dog- but also human behaviour,...

I'm fascinated by everything that concerns human behaviour/thinking/feeling/communication.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

Music: a variety of styles... From Rammstein to Chopin. I like Marc Anthony, Paul Kalkbrenner, Gossip, Kings of Leon, Sia, The Killers, Tracy Chapman, Lenny Kravitz, Bruno Mars, Ellie Goulding, Adel, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Mika and the Scissor sisters (because of the 'feel-good-factor' in their songs), Sade, Alicia Keys, Justin Timberlake, Regina Spector, Mira (a Belgian girl, really good songs!), dEUS, soundtrack Amélie Poulin, Into the wild,...

Movies: there are a lot of good movies... Really liked Mary and Max (I think it's my favorite), Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind, Before Sunrise, After sunset, The bourne identity (3 movies), City of angels, Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulin, My life without me, Sideways, La vita e bella, Hable con ella, The pianist, Into the wild, The educators, Gegen die Wand, La tourneuse de pages, Fucking Amal, Jeux d'enfants, Lola rennt, Whiplash (!!), Birdman, Her, We need to talk about Kevin,... and many many many more! Also a lot of good tv-shows. On top of them: Breaking bad. 24. Dexter.
Homeland.

Books: really loved Eat, Pray, Love from Elisabeth Gilbert. The kite runner and A thousant splendid suns from Khaled Hosseini. The alchemist from Paulo Coelho. These days, I'm reading stuff like Whomen who run with the wolves from Clarissa Pinkola Estes. I love books that make me (if only a bit) wiser about human psychology.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Every day has its little special moments.

I liked the preparations for "Loi kratong" (or how do you write that?) in Sukothai, Thailand. People were so busy with that! Really nice to see.

My fist vipassana course in Nepal... 10 days of no speaking and just concentration on breath and body...

Lehren, lernen, teilen

The most important thing to me is to stand very positive in life. I think I am that enthusiastic that I can share this feeling with other people.

Was ich mit Gastgebern teilen kann

My couch, a nice vegan meal, a (or a few ;-)) drinks, some sociability.

When I'm free and have time, I like going to the city center together. Or I can take you for a walk with my dogs in the nature around Antwerp.
