About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To take the Siberian Express all the way to China

ABOUT ME

Hey, I'm Simon.

Short of saying I'm fairly tall, have blond self quiffing hair and a penchant for velvet jackets I never know quite what to say....

I grew up in the countryside just outside of west London, but consider myself a city dweller after 8 years of living in SE London. I'm quite a curious creature, and have an active drive to broaden my horizons. Fairly outgoing and confident, occasionally seemingly scatter brained I tend to have a plan.

Always up for meeting new folk, I love a coffee or several pints...

PHILOSOPHY

Live and let live, be in the here and now, have faith that things will work out how they're meant to, DONT PANIC!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Other than sleeping on couches after drunken nights out this is a new experience for me, bring it on!!

Interests

I'm into most things ranging from people watching in proper pubs, photography (particularly catching people in the act of being alive), walking. I really enjoy anything mechanical and always need to know how it works, this would explain my geeky love of German cars. A wild out night out with good people always helps.

I'm lucky enough to have a job which keeps me excited, after all, how often is it you get to see children begging their mums for the toy of a childrens tv program you worked on?

Music, Movies, and Books

Filmwise, most things by Terry Gilliam, Tim Burton, Quentin Tarrantino, anything with a Henry Mancini soundtrack or kinda partial to a bit of dark humoured Finish cinema. If its the tv, I love Green Wing, anything Chris Morris has done, any 70s/80s british scifi or comedy. And when there's a power cut and I read a book it'll most likely be something by Ian McEwan (just finished Atonement), or maybe a historial account of London.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Drinking American beer (its actually quite tasty) while watching the sun go down behind the cacti in an Arizona National Park. It was bright red!

Teach, Learn, Share

An encyclopedic knowledge of where to get a decent drink, grub or bus anywhere in London. I can fix things, mainly cars and things.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Monaco, Spain, Switzerland, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

United Kingdom
