CURRENT MISSION

Ok so I haven't used this site for a while but I have hosted friends met on my travels over the years. I am currently in the middle of a two month trip with a friend and we are having a blast. Reading back through my old CS profile it's heartwarming to know that I feel the same way about traveling, exploring, meeting and discovering as I did almost ten years ago as a newbie solo traveler.
I try and travel (more then 4wks)as much as time/money permits which is on average every 12-18months.

(This still applies lol) Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly... :)

ABOUT ME

I am a nanny who has left sunny old england for four months to travel around SE Asia, oz and america by myself. this is my first travelling experience and a real eye opener. Im a laid back kind agirl, who doesnt take life too seriously(see personal philosophy). I like to have alaugh with my friends and spend quality time with the rellies.

*update, so its been a year since my trip and i cant stay still. As we speak i have just spent amonth working and traveling with an american family to utah, san francisco and mexico which has been awesome and they have asked me to come back for two months in the summer so thats where ill be!! but i get back to london in 4 days then holland in 9 days!! yeay!! I LOVE TO TRAVEL!! :D then off to thailand and laos for 8 weeks may/june! woo hooo!!

*update* I'm older and wiser now! With many professional qualifications (always learning, progressing and moving forward) and 9months spent working in turkey I have had so many adventures. Working with high profile families summer on yachts, fancy resturaunts and business class flights. Very very very far from the lifestyle I lead but it keeps me grounded, helps me to members mindful, appreciative and enjoy things as and when they happen. As "this too shall pass".

PHILOSOPHY

To live would be an awfully great adventure. Everything happens for a reason. Worse things can happen.

To choose doubt as a philosophy of life is akin to choosing immobility as a means of transportation.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So I have officaly returned from my around the world trip, but now i have the bug, the travel bug and leave as soon as I can. I travel alot to Groningen, Holland to visit friends and hangout, which i LOVE!! that is my 2nd home :D

If i was at home long enough i would host, but im afraid, much to my family's dismay, they cant pin me down for long! HAHAHAH!!!

*update* I have hosted in London over the years and have had the pleasure of gaining many life long friends. It's such a treat to host in your home town, you get to be a tourist and visit things I haven't for years and get an exciting new perspective.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couched surfed in Hong Kong, around Australia and now in Fiji. Good people, Good times fantastic memories.:)

*Zip lining in across the mexican Canyons in Cabos
*Snow Boarding in Salt Like City, Utah.... ouch!! awesome,yet slightly painful the next day(and the next four! lol) :D
*Sunrise Camel trekking in the Thar dessert, India
*Tubing in Vang Viene, Laos
*Mediation in Vientiane, Laos
*Becoming part of the family in Nandi, Fiji
*Getting bitten by a monkey in Ko phi phi (wasn't funny at the time, but i can appreciate the haha factor now, lol)
*seeing my best friend skydive in sydney(aged me forty years, and smoked 20 cigs in 15 mins....im not a smoker!!ahhh!!!) but her dvd was well funny, flappy lips and all! hahahahahah :)
*Snorkeling in Manuriki (where they filmed castway)it was my first time and what a place to do it.stunning!!
*Sieving wheat 3 days in a row with a family of 6 generations on the floor outside there home.Conversing in two different languages but understanding each other completely.amazing :)Uijain, India
*24 hour drinking session on our hostel roof, we saw pancake sellers and prostitutes in the dark, monks taking alms when the sun rose and people living their lives in the morning.poetry in motion.amazing still.

I'd Love to learn the guitar and i have met so many people along the way who want to teach me, so when i get home, a guitar will be bought and star will be born.lol :P hahah *update.... I bought that guitar but im sure its broken.... it never sounds quite right! :P hehehe, I love it like chocolate cake :D
