I am semi-retired and have a small business. I am a published author. My first book was co-written and is called, My Underpants are Made from Plants: Where things come from. :) It's a 3rd grade reference book. I love nature, am an avid birder, hiker and an accomplished outdoorswoman. I love to travel & meet new people. Right now, I have a small apartment which might not be so good for hosting but I have a single aerobed that I've slept on for several months when traveling this year. It's not so bad. I'd be happy to host under the right circumstances. Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to meet new friends and being a small business person on a budget it helps to offset expenses. I will be traveling to WV & PA regularly and would enjoy staying with and knowing people in the area. I can't wait to go birding & hiking in the mountains of WV & PA.

However, I, also, look forward to staying with someone who lives in an area ...is helpful to have that insider knowledge of an area. It's so great to have the inside scoop on great places to visit, eat or see.

Interests

Photography, hiking/backpacking, nature studies, reading, birding, camping, sight-seeing, history ...well, I find many things interesting and enjoy learning. I am pretty easy going as I find most things interesting. I enjoy biking, canoeing, kayaking and sailing although without a boat of any kind is hard to do that. I've nt done much snowshoeing or cross country skiing but it looks like fun. I am a HUGE rockhound and constantly am picking them up.

Music, Movies, and Books

Hmmm, well, I just read a very good book called Jimmy Bluefeather. I would highly recommend it. If I could find the time ...I'd go to see the new Star Wars movie and I'm pretty eclectic when it comes to music. I have to be in the right mood to enjoy old style country, though.
