About Me

CURRENT MISSION

****Currently traveling, so not available for hosting**** Next stop: Japan!

Doing research and trying to understand the complexity of brain tumors while traveling if I have the time to do so!

ABOUT ME

I think I'm an easy-going person. I'm quite talkative and I like meeting new people. I'm the kind of person who talks to a stranger in a train or to other strangers I meet - you get to know the most interesting people this way!

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in equality for everyone regardless their heritage, gender, skin colour, sexual orientation, religious belief, monthly income...

My biggest goal in life is to become happy - not rich

Also I'm trying to do a lot of stuff just for the experience. You rather regret the stuff you didn't do than the stuff you did.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Mostly surfing, I already surfed in the UK, Germany, China, Norway and Denmark. I cannot imagine any better way to travel. Most of my memorable tips included staying with locals!

I also enjoy going to couchsurfing events and parties in the cities I am currently staying or living!

I hosted people from Germany, Australia, China and India. This was mostly during my stay in China, where I had quite a big flat ;) Unfortunately this hasn't been possible in my student housing in Germany. I met a lot of nice people through this site, it's perfect to get to know cool people visiting your city.

Also: if I send you a request please don't write me messages like "I have a couch but I would prefer to share my bed". This is NOT a hook up site.
I don't want to be "that" ; person, just writing this because of some bad experience I made.

Interests

Sports: Running; fitness, martial arts (I did kung fu and fencing), dancing (I started learning Salsa and Bachata recently), hiking

Reading, theatre (playing and visiting)

Obviously traveling ;) I love Scandinavian countries, the nature and way of living is just so so wonderful

Medicine, (neuro) biology, cancer research

Board and card games, anything related to genetics/evolution, philosophy, linguistics, social studies, history... I am really up to anything and I enjoy good and intense discussions about it. Also, I don't have a problem with people disagreeing to me, so don't be afraid ;) In my opinion, this is the best way to learn about different perspectives!

I also enjoy hearing other peoples travel stories and stories of their country because it gives me a more intense experience from the country and a better insight in local culture.

Music, Movies, and Books

Oh, I love watching series!

I actually have to contain myself a lot, otherwise I would never be finished studying...
So here are my favourites: Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, Stranger Things, Sherlock, Criminal Minds, Good Wife, Black mirror, Prison Break, Westworld...

My guilty pleasure is trash TV series (like The Bachelor, please don't judge me on this one...)

Sometimes I watch anime too, recently I'm watching Shingeki no Kyojin, Boruto, Black Clover, Boku no Hero Academia

I am not very educated film wise to be honest. We don't have a cinema in the town I'm living in in Germany (no joke). So I missed out! But I basicially enjoy many kinds of movies (except typical romantic hollywood comedies...)

Books:

Magic Cleaning, 1984, Fahrenheit 451, The Martian, The Perfume, The fault in our stars, The Hobbit, The Picture of Dorian Gray, Harry Potter, Kingkiller Chronicles, When breath becomes air

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Staying in China for three months and experience a complete different culture

Hiking on Huangshan in China was pretty cool and I witnessed the most beautiful sunrise of my life there

Hiking and sleeping in tents on Lofoten Island, Norway

Participating in the greatest international scavenger hunt the world has ever seen and helping to break the world record. Also contributed pictures to the largest photo album of hugs.

Going out of my shell and trying theatre, although the thought of being on stage kinda freaked me out at first!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm always keen on sharing knowledge! So if you have any questions about medicine, german politics and history, just go ahead! Oh, and obviously I could teach you some German.

I would like to learn more about minimalism and spirituality (even though I'm not particularly religious)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm always up to good conversations, a city stroll, hiking, drinking coffee/tea/hot chocolate, having good food! Count me in!

Also like everybody else on CS (:D) I'm also more than happy to cook some (vegetarian) meals for you. Just don't be disappointed if I cannot cook many traditional German dishes, as my family isn't originally from Germany...

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Finland, France, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Netherlands, Northern Ireland, Norway, Qatar, Scotland, Seychelles, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland

Countries I’ve Lived In

China, England, Germany, Norway
