Hi, I'm Verity and I live in Manchester, England. I have just come back from my travels in Bali, Indonesia and hope to explore much more of SE Asia in the near future as I feel this trip only scratched the surface! I love to meet new people!

I am on couchsurfing because I believe that everyone should be able to travel the world, have extraordinary experiences and meet wonderful new people without feeling limited by factors we're told we should feel limited by! E.g. Time, money, age. I have found that it is a good way to connect with people across the globe and to forge friendships which would otherwise not be possible :)

I have been vegan for 3 and a half years so it is something I have become very passionate about. Plus I have had plenty of time to learn to cook wholesome vegan food 😜 I love being inspired as well as inspiring and teaching others without judgement- no one is perfect 💚 My main motivation for choosing this lifestyle is to minimise the harm I am doing to the planet and animals- because we only have one planet Earth 🌏 It is one of the best if not THE best decisions I have ever made. I would love to talk to other people about their beliefs and cook vegan food for a host sometime! :)

Besides this I enjoy many other things such as graphic design, singing, reading and going on hikes and camping trips ⛺️ it is surprising to see how much beauty is on our doorstep!

Currently on a gap year and will start a one year Foundation Diploma at the Manchester School of Art in September. After this I hope to do a lot of travelling and see where it takes me! I don't quite know where I want to go yet so if you think I would enjoy your country send me a message and I can add it to my list and visit you in the future!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to meet other travellers and find out more about different cultures. I think it will be cool to chat to other people about their experiences and learn from them. I haven't done a ton of travelling yet as I have just finished my studies but I have a lot planned!

Pretty much anything and everything. Currently reading 'The Free' by Willy Vlautin. Favourite books include 'Lolita' by Vladimir Nabokov and 'The five people you meet in heaven' by Mitch Albom. Favourite music genres are rap, hip hop, soul, reggae but I like a bit of everythinggg. One of my favourite bands is probably the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
