From New Zealand, working in Scotland and soon to embark on our first couch surfing experience

ABOUT ME

We are a fun-loving, easy-going couple from New Zealand on our first overseas adventure. Our aim is to experience as much of Europe (on a tight budget) as we can before heading back home.

We love good times, good music and immersing ourselves with good people.

Having just begun traveling we have the taste for it and can't wait to do more...

We host when we can and are about to begin surfing!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have hosted surfers from France and Israel which were both fantastic experiences. Soon we are to be hosted while we travel around Europe and are looking forward to exciting experiences and making new friends.

When back in New Zealand we'll definitely continue to host surfers and return the favour.

Interests

*We love listening, playing and jamming music. Spencer has been in a variety of different bands and I have worked in promotion and band management. We love attending local gigs, international concerts and festivals. I am also a primary school teacher and I really enjoy my job.

Spencer: Some favourites include - Bob Dylan, Townes Van Zandt, Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana etc... Cormic McCarthy, Hunter S Thompson, Tolkien, Bill Bryson... Dead Man, Pulp Fiction and many others.

Verity: I enjoy all types of music but some favourites include - NOFX, Anti-Flag, Hole, Nirvana, The Clash, Shapeshifter, Fat Freddys Drop, The Distillers, Babes in Toyland, L7, The Strokes, Dropkick Murphys, The Heavy, Primal Scream, Bands from my hometown Dunedin (there are a lot of them!) this list could go on and on... - I like to read biographies and non-fiction texts - I enjoy many movies that listing them would take forever.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seeing London's skyline from the plane window after a 48 hour journey, realising we were on the other side of the world and at the start of a great new adventure.

Constantly being amazed by the beauty that is our home country.

Teach, Learn, Share

We can both share stories about life and culture in New Zealand as well as English.
We can show you around Edinburgh and point you in the right direction of places to go and cheap bargins.
Spencer could teach you some guitar. We could share with you experiences of band-life; touring, making an album and our local music scene in NZ.
I'm a primary school teacher so can teach you about the education system and kids! I can share some of my traveling/live music photos with you as I enjoy photography.
