About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Empower myself so as to empower others.

ABOUT ME

I am a married mother of five who worked with the government of Cameroon for over 25 years in the Tourism Department. I have always been passionate about helping the less privileged than myself. I am the Founder and Leader of the Ntankah Village Women Common Initiative Group a community based self help group which has achieved international fame for advancing the cause of grassroots women.
I am easy going, patient, tolerant, passionate, hard working and open to teaching and learning. I enjoy interacting with people of all generations and cultures as well as social backgrounds. I enjoy living in a communal setting.
I like dancing and singing as well as traveling and experiencing other peoples and cultures.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe universal love and understanding. I believe in making the world a better place to live for every one and avoid destroying the environment. I also strongly believe in individual rights and civil liberties.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy watching African movies as especially Nigerian music. I love the sound of music. I enjoy Cameroonian music especially Makossa music, salsa or Zouk, Congolese music and reggae music and blues.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Little things cause a ripple effect in the world. I have received international recognition from the YWCA as one of the 14 women leading change in the world. I was voted community woman of the year by one of Cameroon's leading English language newspapers, my organization was awarded the Red ribbon award at the International AIDs Conference in Mexico in 2008 and in 2009 I was given an award for women emancipation by the Dordrecht-Bamenda Foundation and finally in 2010, my organization was awarded the Cordaid sexual and reproductive health award for providing services to women living with AIDS. In these way I have met heads of states, Ministers, and top UN leaders. Truly amazing for a small grassroots woman like myself!!!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am interested to learn about HIV and child care, elder care and improving advocacy skills. I want to learn income generating skills for marginalized individuals and communities. I equally want to learn fund raising, networking and proposal writing skills.
I can teach counseling skills, leadership skills, income generating activities, local customs and traditions and peer learning. I can also teach farming and small livestock production. I can also teach cooking of local Cameroonian dishes. I can teach on conflict resolution.
