Hey!
My name is Veronika, I am 25 years old and I love to travel!
I am doing my Masters Degree in German Literature and Language studies and I am also working as a student assistant. Currently I am doing an internship in Cologne so technically I live in Germany right now, in two month I will be back to my base in Austria though.
I love learning about and experiencing other cultures, I guess this love started while beeing an Au Pair in the US for a year. This is five years back and I still feel the same excitement when it comes to travel.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am always looking for cheap ways to travel, but also for ways to meet new people. I have used airbnb on some of my past trips and I have made really good experiences in staying at someones house or apartment, since you always get insider tips about the places you visit and always get to learn a little bit about the culture. While there are great hosts on airbnb there are also more and more people who try to commercialize and often people run almost a real hotel rather than a shared place. I hope that Couchsurfing has more spirit of hospitality. Also I think it is always good to know all options. Every trip is different, sometimes you want to meet other travelers so a hostel is perfect, sometimes you want to meet local people so Couchsurfing or airbnb is perfect and sometimes you just want your privacy and some rooms service so you check for a hotel.
