ABOUT ME

I am all over the place in a lot of ways and I can fit in with lots of different people and in lots of different situations. Sometimes I want to read Marx and wax philosophical and others I sit and try to teach myself programming languages. I'm happy going out and having adventures, or staying home and baking or reading all day. I also like to watch baseball.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm an empathetic materialist. In other words, I am driven by compassion for those around me, even strangers; and I am fascinated by the way objects, things, people, and events constantly interact to produce new, changing situations.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I traveled alone around Brazil after I finished my undergrad degree. It was terrifying and intense much of the time, but I learned and experienced so much.

I can teach: knitting, crocheting, cataloging and information organization, cat health and nutrition, the ins and outs of libraries and research in almost any subject;
I want to learn more about: computer programming, feminist marxism/socialism, quilting, Spanish, Portuguese
