Overview
About Me
Hi,
My name is Nives
I'm a 33-year-old sound designer/podcast editor from Serbia.
I'm into learning new things as I recently started learning front-end development programming.
I listen to good podcasts and interviews on topics such as self-development, psychology, and business.
I hope to start my own business someday, helping women to spread their message and have their voices heard, and I have an idea for my future food vegan business.
I'm traveling with my girlfriend Ivona. She's new to this website and doesn't have a profile yet so she has added some of her own comments to mine for now -
Ivona:
I'm a 30yo painter, also from Serbia. I work mostly as a muralist, but I also do traditional painting, as well as digital. I'm into feminism, veganism and ecology. I'm pretty introverted sometimes, but I still love to connect and have genuine conversations. I currently have two cats (one with Nives), but I love all kinds of animals.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Right now, we are in the process of moving to Germany, but we're not yet sure exactly where we would like to live. We want to explore different areas of Germany while meeting local people and feel out the vibes of different places before we decide on renting.
Interests
Nives:
I'm into sports such as basketball, tennis, and swimming. I've even competed in amateur lgbt tournaments in basketball, which also was connected with a chance of traveling and meeting interesting people.
Besides that, I love slow walks in nature and always being close to the water. I can say that I'm pretty much an outdoorsy type myself.
I love cooking food. (vegan)
I play the guitar from time to time.
Ivona:
I love all kinds of crafty activities. When I'm not painting, I love having a sewing or embroidery project, and recently I've started learning how to weave.
I'm most at peace when I'm in nature and I'm a sucker for a good hike with frequent stops to "look at that plant!!!" :) Hiking gave me confidence in my body and its capabilities, and I want to try out mountain biking as well someday to add to that.
I'm into testing out new vegan recipes from Pinterest and I've spent time volunteering as a mentor to people transitioning to a vegan diet.
Other than that, I like gardening, playing a chill video game or board game/cards/chess...

Music, Movies, and Books
Nives:
Currently, I'm reading Gabor Mate's book, but I also like Murakami.
My favorite TV show is The Good Fight, but there are also a lot more that I like. :)
Ivona:
I never know how to categorize genres, but I like music by Fiona Apple, Glass Animals, Maggie Rogers, Lana del Rey, Florence, and just a bunch of single songs by random artists. I love discovering new songs.
I like a good road trip movie (Thelma & Louise) or a thriller (Gone Girl, Midsommar), but I'll give any movie a chance for at least 15 minutes. :)
Tbh, I'm trying to get into reading again and get my attention span back to what it used to be, but I like storylines with female and natural themes, and right now on my reading list is Women Who Run with Wolves.
Teach, Learn, Share
We both have a goal to move to the countryside and have an off-grid lifestyle. We're into permaculture gardening and sustainable homes. So if you have any experience with this, we would love to learn (or if you also have a passion for these topics, we can just share and learn together) :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
Nives: I can share tips on how to edit sound and record yourself (if you want to make a podcast or sth similar)
Ivona: I'm happy to share knowledge about painting, or any of the crafts I've mentioned above. Also, I'm happy to cook tasty vegan meals and share tips and recipes.
We both believe in pulling our own weight, such as doing our share of cooking, cleaning, etc, while couchsurfing.
