About Me

I was born in Ukraine and immigrated to the United States by myself 14 years ago. I work as a Software Engineer, regular 9-5 job with 15 days of vacation a year. I enjoy traveling alone and being free to plan my days as I like. When traveling I enjoy also meeting local people, learning about life in a particular country.
Other things I enjoy doing in my spare time is running, going to the gym, spending time in nature, practicing yoga and meditation, performing ( belly dance). I love animals, and have 2 cats and 2 snails living with me.
I am into natural minimalist living. Don't own a TV, haven't watched it in over 14 years, don't care about the news, radio, and other media. Also taking a break from Facebook ( deactivated my account 8/2015).
I follow vegetarian diet, don't drink alcohol, don't smoke, don't go to bars, no interest in night life and partying.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Being an introvert and also having ability to travel only when I have vacation (=limited time), I tend to stay in cute average budget hotels, which kind of isolates me from people and making friends when traveling. One of the biggest interests I have when traveling is local culture immersion and learning how local people live.
So I think I want to try couchsurfing next time I travel :)
