We are Chloé and Violette, two animation directors from France and Belgium. We met in Brussels in animation school (La Cambre). After graduating, we both wanted to leave Brussels for a while, and decided to combine our wish to travel with our speciality and passion: animation, and especially stop motion. This is how we came up with the project World in (Stop)Motion, a travelling animated series created through workshops all around Europe.
We are currently travelling around Europe in our van (called Kevin) with our puppet (called Gaïa), and wishing to meet new people along the road!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As I said before, we are now on a roadtrip around Europe. We sleep in our van, so we are actually not looking for a couch. We just want to meet new people to discover their country or town, have a drink, have a nice talk...
And in case you are interested in animation, we would be glad to share a stop motion experience with you!!

This is a pretty random list I made as I edited my first couchsurfing profile, but I let it as it is, it already gives kind of an idea, maybe!
Movies and director: there are too much of them! Wim Wenders, Coppola, Kitano, Resnais, Wong Kar Wai, Svankmajer, Satoshi Kon, Kubrick, Tarkovski, Agnes Varda...
Some books: The unbearable lightness of beeing (Kundera), Kafka on the beach and After Dark (Murakami), Journal d'un corps (Pennac, Larcenet), 1984 (Orwell)... I love comics and graphics novels (Manu Larcenet, Brecht Evens...)
Music: Battles, David Bowie, Alt-J, Baschung, Birdy Nam Nam, Bonobo, Cold War Kids, The XX, Fever Ray, soundtracks (Drive, Easy Rider, Until the end of the world, Pulp fiction...) and a lot of others.
