ABOUT ME

I am a university graduate with degrees in art history, graphic design, and Spanish. I love to learn new skills and implement them in fun ways. I play music, brew beer, study art history, design graphic art, read philosophy and am emphatically trying to learn Spanish. Traveling is a passion of mine, it is great to be imbued in new cultures and experiences in new places. Meeting people is a natural extension of my love of traveling and I hope to do so through this site as to share knowledge and good times with interesting people.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is relatively simple - Practice altruism consistently and frequently and take in as much and as varied experience as possible.

Interests

I am always interested in learning new things (whether they're trivial or practical),as well as teaching what I already know. I enjoy conversation in general, but philosophy, art, and music are far-from-foreign topics for me. I'll talk all day about brewing and/or typography... you've been warned :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I like most music, from classical to death metal, electronica to ranchero. My favorite authors are Chuck Palahniuk, Tom Robins, Daniel Dennett, Carl Hiaasen, and Stephen Levitt. My favorite film is The Matrix.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen Caravaggio paintings in person with no one else in the room, walked through catacombs lined with staked femors and skulls higher than you could see over, played flemenco guitar with the locals in rural Spain, but the most incredible thing I've done is simply to have taken the initiative to go to the places that allowed for those experiences.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can help teach music theory, brewing beer, adobe software, and I think that any good conversation can offer much to both participating parties. Right now, I would like to learn to speak Spanish and anything past that is more than welcomed. I'm also picking up new hobbies that pique my interest.
