ABOUT ME

I'm married to Don and have 4 children, two are about to make us Grandparents soon. They couldn't wait so we already know our daughter is having a boy and our son is having a girl.
I like watching HGTV for the decorating shows and House Hunters International. Don leaves the room and much prefers the news.
We some day hope to buy a condo on the Island of Roatan, where we can scuba dive all winter long. We have a cottage in Port Stanley we rent out all summer and will retire to in the summer months, when we sell our house in Woodstock.
We were volunteers for 8 years for V.A.S.O.C.-Victim Assistance Services of Oxford County, where we went on emergency calls with the police to comfort and pass along information for families with victims of Sudden Death,Domestic violence,Suicide,etc. The police being busy and needing to leave to go to another call we would stay with the family member until other family could arrive. Don and I found this very rewarding but had to give it up because of our increased hours of work.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is "the more you give the more you get" Maybe not from the same source but I do beleive there's more reward from giving, and it will come back to you. We're here to learn and some lessons are really hard. I beleive we chose to be here and in the end only kindness matters.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I just learned about this web-site from a co-worker and instantly thought it would be right for my husband and I. We love to meet new people and share our travel experiences with others like us. There is so much to learn from those around us if we just try to reach out and communicate.

兴趣

Right now and for the last two years, we've been working mandatory 6 days a week. We love to travel, scuba dive,relax with a good book and a glass of wine or two. We spend a lot of time in the summer months outside at our pool, entertaining friends for dinner and sitting around the fire.

I love music, not country so much and I could do without screamo and rap. Mostly the stuff on the radio. I often forget how good music makes me feel. When I'm alone working and realize I should put some music on then I think "why didn't I do this sooner". Reading is awesome,don't have a lot of time for it but that's what my break times at work are for and holidays when I'm not traveling. Movies...who doesn't like to watch a good movie. Music fav's are Pink Floyd, Gary Moore, Eagles, Aerosmith,Gun's N rose's. Books and Movies-Fantasy,Mystery,Thrillers

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I went Sky Diving as a teen, only twice though. Broke my back the second time. Made a full recovery.
My 15 year old son just recently got lost on Mt. Washington on Vancouver Island snowboarding. Mt.Washington Search and Rescue had my son use the compass setting on his I phone to find his co-ordinates. He fractured a lot of bones in his face,was rescued by ski patrol 9 hours later. Because of the head injury,we spent an extra 9 days in Victoria at the hospital waiting to fly home safely. Amazing people who helped and treated us like family. Jenecee's place right next to the hospital is for families from out of town who have a loved one in the hospital. We fit the criteria and we stayed there the whole time for $28/night, free food, and I was able to walk to the hospital in the middle of the night when I couldn't sleep.
We've had amazing trips all over the world and can't wait for the next one although I don't want a repeat of the last trip ever!!!

My husband is a Dive Master and would be willing to take an experienced diver diving as long as you have a minimum open water certificate. He's affiliated with PADI
