About Me

ABOUT ME

Hi! Im a fundraising officer for The NSPCC. i studied political geography at Newcastle university and have since worked as a cook, baker and for the Labour Party during the last General Election. I am trying to put off being a grown up by travelling as much as I can, and so far it's going well! I'm fascinated by national identity, politics, and war memorials (another geeky hangover from my degree). I LOVE space, if you can tell me a good star gazing spot or just geek out with me about the latest discoveries that would be great! I also have all the usual interests: books, art, music, beer, exploring, trains, tea and cake, bad jokes and meeting people who can teach me new things!

PHILOSOPHY

Say yes to as much as possible. The world is so big and so beautiful that I want to learn and live as much as I can.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like to read, my favourite book is Les miserables, but I read pretty much anything, as my parents run a bookshop so I've be blessed by always having books on hand! My current pile waiting to be read includes Fight Club, a couple of CJ Sansoms, The God Delusion, Douglas Coupland, Ian McEwan, John Simpson and a book about Fermat's last theorm. I am trying to watch classic movies at the moment, as there are many I have never seen. My favourite film is probably the great escape, I love it! I like Wes Anderson and am a sucker for Bond films too. Obviously I also love Mean Girls and Bridget Jones- anyone who doesn't is lying.

Music wise, like everyone I listen to loads of stuff from the Beatles and elvis to gypsy hill and James bay and billy Joel, biffy Clyro, pretty much anything except dance. At the moment I can't stop listening to swim deep- such good music for sunny evenings.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hitch hiked to Morocco a few years ago which was brilliant!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am trying to learn more languages, so anything you can teach me is great! Or how to cook new things, make things, play instruments or dance! Anything!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can teach you how to speak Geordie and bake incredible brownies, or how to crochet.
