About Me
Hi! We're Sak (Sakaya) and Vic (Victoire), and we're leaving Cambodia to return to France without flying! The goal is to experience the distances and cultures along the way while trying to reduce our carbon footprint. For that, all modes of transport are good: mostly hitchhiking, but also trains, (city) buses, the metro (we really like urban public transport), boats, and anything that we find on the way!
We're 24 years old and finished engineering school a year and a half ago (that's where we became friends). We spent the last seven months in Phnom Penh working for a non governement organization that provides education to underprivileged youth in Cambodia (the NGO is PSE, "Pour un Sourire d'Enfant")!
We’re easygoing, curious, and pretty adaptable. We’re used to simple living, shared flats, volunteering, and figuring things out as we go. We enjoy cooking, long conversations about life, understanding how other people see the world, or just a good laugh !
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We're on Couchsurfing for the same reasons we hitchhike! We love meeting people, sharing stories, and discovering other ways of life. We’d also like to try traveling without constantly consuming, and see what happens when you rely more on people than on money. (And and this isn’t just a one way help : when we’re back in France, we plan to use Couchsurfing the other way around and host people too !!)
We’re respectful of people’s space and rhythm, and we’re genuinely grateful for anyone who opens their door to us !

What I Can Share with Hosts
Honestly, we’re up for almost anything!
We’ve both done quite a bit of volunteering over the years, in associations, in hostels, and recently in Cambodia, so we’re used to helping where it’s needed and adapting quickly. We’re comfortable with kids, group activities, basic DIY, organizing things, cooking for many people, or just bringing good energy into a space.
Victoire did 11 years of scouting, so camp life, teamwork, games, and collective spirit are very natural to us ⛺️
We’re also crossing quite a few countries on our way back to France, so we’ll be collecting stories, impressions, and random observations. We can make you travel a bit without you moving from your couch 😄
And of course, we’re just as excited to learn from you !!
