Overview
About Me
I had been a newspaper photographer on Cape Cod when suddenly I leapt at a chance to rebuild a wooden boat in Florida and take her up the coast to Maine. From there I spent a good part of my life on a farm in New Hampshire, then to Vermont, then Florida, where I have shown my work at art fairs, but mostly I travel New England or the US west coast. Currently I live in Maine.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
For a spell now friends have told me to join. Seems I have been doing it anyway for a very long time. I met some wonderful people through couchsurfing when I was in Italy.
Interests
Photography, of course. I enjoy making images of people at work and during cultural/political/domestic events. You can visit my website at www.victorsalvo.com to see for yourself. I do like fishing. I like the woods and fields. Churches. At times I devour through books. Rainy evenings in the cities. Dogs I am fond of. I love the color of eggplant. A tangle of peas on the vine are nice. The warmth of reaching underneath a hen sitting on eggs. A pint of beer. I would like to paint pictures. Writing is starting to become fun. Bonfires in the deep of winter.

Music, Movies, and Books
Grateful Dead, Blues, Jazz, Ween, anything live. Haitian Gospel. I like the small venues; I like seeing the fingers fly over their instruments. I do not like horror movies, unless I've seen them already. Then I will like them. Herzog, I adore, as well as Mike Timm. "A Girl, A Guy, A Space Helmet." I like historical fiction and crop circles and mysteries of DNA. Nautical adventure. Now reading "The Secret Life of Lobsters".
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Fetched up two turtles on that long black lonely walk down to Jeremy's Point in Wellfleet, Cape Cod at a million o'clock at night last November.
Teach, Learn, Share
Always watch your background when taking photos.
Put the cream cheese in the pan first, low heat, then when it's melted add the avocado, spinach and egg.
