Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I currently study in Braga, Portugal, and live at the University residence. For that reason, I cannot receive guests, but as soon as I get back to Brazil my home will be opened to couchsurfers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I went to Morocco and it was spectacular! I met several cities, but undoubtedly the most intense and surprising experience happened in Zagora. Me and too friends were couchsurfers there.
Zagora is a small city and having been able to know it (from the oasis to one night at the desert) in the company of local people was extraordinary. The culture, the habits, the food, the idiom, It was all new and we were introduced to those differences the best way possible by our hosts.

Interests

Trips, history, cinema, literature.
An old friend used to say that nothing in this life belongs to me, except for the experience the world offers me. He was right. I only have what I live and the world is an endless source of new experiences. Traveling is the most natural and richest way to get involved with the world, knowing what it hides and live what it offers. But the world is the more than the instantpresent, it is as we know it because of the past. Each bit of ground, each slice of this great globe is the vastrecord of common history, the history of us all, all of it reachable. Cinema and literature are the most beautiful instruments to show off the world, is it to show it as it is, as it should be or even as we would like it to be; if reality is fascinating on the white screen of a dark room, fiction poured on a sheet paper is seductive. Cinema and literature are lovers of history, the world is the scenario/set, a large nuptial bed where the future is prepared.

Teach, Learn, Share

I’m Brazilian. I believe I can show a bit of mine country’s culture through music, movies, maybe some of the idiom and even our food (why not?), but mostly chatting, talking about how my life is back home. Certainly, personal reports are one of the best ways of knowing somewhere else, not only better than actually going or living there… and, for this purpose, there is couchsurfing.
