Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Curiousity killed the cat, but I hope to have just an interesting life due to this feature of my character:)
I don't like standard countries visiting, knowing them just by brief half-heard half-failed info at the guided tour in a sight-seeing bus that is hard to swallow...
I like knowing places with insiders` help:)
My family goes hiking (with backpacks, tents and so on:). Some places are wild enough to know it just with GPS communication, walking there alone. But our world is worth seeing it not just this way, but in contact with different cultures, different people. And then we must hide GPS and ask locals about their homeland. That's what i'm looking for here.
