I am a passionate traveler with an appreciation for culture and learning with a global perspective. I love people and their stories. I will be in Europe for five months and I look forward to the adventures.

Exploring everything Spain has to offer, taking a few side trips, and ending with a trip through Poland, Hungary, Austria and Germany.

For me, it is very important to get a unique cultural experience in every place that I travel. I think that meeting and spending time with locals is the most successful way to do this. I have a lot of respect for other cultures and I am confident that this is the best way to learn.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

Music:
I enjoy music with an acoustic atmosphere, like The Lumineers and The Head and the Heart. I also enjoy edgier music like The Black Keys and Hozier.

Movies:
My favorite movies are comedies with original screenplays, but I would rather watch a TV show like Parks and Recreation, The Office, or New Girl.

Books:
I love all books; my recent fascination has been some of the Classics like Jane Eyre, The Catcher in the Rye, and Grapes of Wrath. I also love any book with a true historical setting and a fictional storyline- it satisfies my love of history and introduces new characters as well.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Last winter, I traveled to Lima, Peru with an organization called MEDLIFE- Medicine, Education and Development for Low Income Families Everywhere. When I was in Peru, I helped to set up mobile clinics in the very impoverished areas of Pamplona Alta on the outskirts of Lima. The people that live here have sought refuge from gangs and terrorist tribes throughout history. They are neither recognized nor supported by the government, so healthcare is virtually unobtainable. With MEDLIFE I was able to help a small portion of these people with medical appointments and treatments. I admire this organization because it works with local doctors to make sure the treatment lasts a long time and is sustainable, and this initiative will help these communities become more autonomous. I was privileged to meet plenty of new friends, practice my Spanish, see a new place, and provide direct assistance to amazing people.

Teach:
I want to teach people about my unique experiences as a foreign exchange student in Spain and as a European tourist who wants to be as little of a tourist as possible. I'd also love to share my impression of each culture in comparison to the United States.

Learn:
The biggest thing I want to do with Couchsurfing is learn. Every culture that I encounter is such an individual and there is so much that the people have to teach me. I want to know your favorite parts of your culture, your daily routine, your history, anything!

Share:
I want us to share a mutual respect and appreciation for each other's cultures.

First off, I can share a respectful attitude towards someone's home, their belongings and their daily routine. I will share adaptability, because I understand that being allowed to stay in someone's home is an incredible privilege. I can share an eagerness to learn about people's lives, where they come from and what they have learned. Lastly, I can share an easygoing personality in order to have fun and make memories.
