My name is Victoria and I am solo travelling throughout SE Asia and Australia this summer. Last year I was teaching ESL in Quebec and loved it. When I'm not travelling or teaching I'm also a student at the University of Guelph in Canada, where I will be starting my masters this fall in English literature.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

While researching for my trip I've found that a lot of experienced travelers have said that this is one of the best ways to see culture and to meet locals. I am interested in meeting people from the cultures that I wish to explore so that I can learn more about the lifestyle and make some new friends!

Interests

I am a really outdoorsy person and I try to spend time outside whenever I can. I also love to try new things, especially things that I wouldn't normally do on my own. If you have an interest that you want to share with me, it's pretty likely that I will be happy to try it! Most recently I tried scuba diving and motorbikes for the first time and loved both.

I listen to a lot of alternative, psychedelic, and classic rock, but I also enjoy classical music and electronic if I'm in the mood.

My favourite author is Cheryl Strayed. I find her so inspiring!

Right now my favourite movie is Her, but I love any kind of drama or horror movie too
