About Me
Where to begin? I am a biologist/geographer who is passionate about wildlife and figuring out how to help people live with and appreciate the other amazing species we share this planet with. I also love to explore new places, from hiking in the "middle-of-nowhere" to walking down narrow streets in bustling cities. I don't travel for fun nearly as much as I'd like to, so I am eagerly anticipating the invention of teleportation or other devices that will allow us to travel at lower costs and with a smaller carbon footprint. ;-)
I have a husband and dog, both of whom are fun travel companions, but sadly our family travels are restricted to car trips what with those pesky airline and bus regulations regarding dogs.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've always thought you get to know a place best when you live as a local. It seems to me that couchsurfing is the best way to do this when you're traveling to places where you don't already know a local (or they can't put you up for whatever reason). It's not always easy being in someone else's space, but there's something very cool about putting yourself out there. I'm not able to host right now, but hoping to in the future.

Music, Movies, and Books
I can never pick favourites, but I love things that make me laugh out loud or cry. I feel like I haven't had a chance to read a book "for fun" in forever, but looking forward to a LOT of catch-up reading when I'm done my current degree.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am happy to cook meals with you or make you a yummy dessert, philosophize about the problems of the world, help with cleaning, and/or look after plants or pets.
