About Me

I've been traveling since I was born, thanks to my dad being a pilot—some of my earliest memories are watching the world from an aircraft cockpit. While much of my travel has been within the United States, my passion for exploring cultures and nature truly expanded in 2024, when I spent 42 days backpacking across Japan.

With an open mind and eagerness to connect across language barriers, I journeyed through Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Arashiyama, Izumisano, Hiroshima, Miyajima Island, Fukuoka, Yanagawa, Nagasaki, Beppu, and returned via the Sunflower Ferry through Osaka and back to Tokyo. The experience deepened my curiosity, adaptability, and love for immersive cultural exchange.

Now, in 2025, I’ve returned to Japan—and I’m ready to continue exploring new places or hop to new countries entirely, making friends, memories, and picking up new skills along the way. My journey is just beginning!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To me, travel is less about checking places off a list, and more about truly feeling a place through the people who live there. I’m here to learn, share stories, and help out however I can along the way.

Couchsurfing gives me the chance to connect authentically—with both the culture and the kindness that exists across the world. Whether it’s over a meal, a walk, or a quiet evening chat, I’m here for the moments that remind us how beautifully human we all are.

I travel with respect, curiosity, and gratitude—hoping to give as much as I gain, but also save on funds so I can experience more.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don’t really have set favorites—I tend to follow curiosity. Sometimes that means old classics, sometimes something entirely new or unexpected. I enjoy stories and sounds that move me, teach me, or just make me feel more alive.

I'm always open to recommendations and love discovering the favorites of others—it’s one of the best ways to connect. However I do consume a lot of manhwa, anime, and kdramas.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2024, I solo traveled across Japan for 42 days—navigating language barriers, night buses, bullet trains, and quiet mountain towns with nothing but a backpack, an open mind, and a lot of curiosity. It was one of the most alive, present, and connected experiences I’ve had, and it reminded me how much growth happens when you lean into the unknown.

But if that's too bland for fellow travelers, then another amazing thing I’ve done was having my pottery showcased in the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum. As someone who pours meaning into small details, it was an honor to see something I created become part of a public space and conversation.

And in terms of a notable follow up, I have ranked in the top 5% nationally for IPDA Debate two years in a row, even having the chance to speak on complex topics in front of U.S. senators. It taught me how to communicate clearly, listen deeply, and stand firmly in uncertainty with empathy and courage. But my natural love of learning and new perspectives supports my travels and my ability to comprehend.

Teach, Learn, Share

I believe everyone carries something worth sharing. I’d love to teach anything I know—whether it’s English conversation, creative expression, cultural insight, or just how to make a comforting meal. I’m always eager to learn, especially when it comes to language, local customs, new ways of living, or personal skills like gardening, cooking, or hands-on work.

What I value most is the exchange itself—quiet or lively, practical or philosophical. I’m here to grow alongside others, and to leave a space better than I found it, even in small ways.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can offer a grounded presence, a helping hand, and a thoughtful heart. Whether it’s assisting with tasks, creative projects, or just bringing good energy into a shared space, I show up with respect, curiosity, and a willingness to contribute however I can or share hobbies together or even adventures throughout the day!

I’m happy to share stories from the road, homemade meals, language exchange, or quiet companionship. I value connection—whether through deep conversation, lighthearted laughs, or simply sharing space with mutual care.
