About Me

I was born in and been living in Auckland, New Zealand most of my life. There has always been a part of me which wanted to see and feel the rest of the world but was afraid to. In August 2011 I finally braved it out and did something about it. I took my first OE, teaching English to primary school children in a rural town in South Korea. It was an amazing experience but after 8 months I felt it was time to come home.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm interested in learning about and meeting people from different cultures and backgrounds. Living in Korea was an awesome way to experience this. Though it's been 3 years since I came back to New Zealand I would like to continue seeing and learning about the rest of the world through travelling. When I heard about Couchsurfing I thought it was a great way to meet others who are genuinely interested in doing the same.

Interests

I'm a huge foodie, I love eating and learning about foods from around the world. I'm also interested in languages and wish I could speak all the languages of the world but unfortunately only speak Cantonese, English, some Mandarine and a teeny weeny bit of Korean.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: All sorts except hard rock/heavy metal and dub step.

Movies: I'm a fan of Disney, action comedies and crime thrillers.
A few of my faves are Shutter Island, Rush Hour, Toy Story.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Almost got stranded while travelling in South Korea in the dead of winter. Missed the last midnight bus home so had to take the 1am bus to another city where a friend stayed. Got there by 4am and didn't know where she lived, called but no answer so waited for the first 5.30am bus to another friends place in the next city. Finally got there around 7am after traveling all night. A memorable experience indeed.
