Sobre mí

CURRENT MISSION

To move home to the San Fernanco Valley.

ABOUT ME

I am a 51-year-old female. Orginally from Burbank, California. I currently reside in East Bay SF and, I am looking to move home, to Burbank.

I moved to my current location from Maricopa, Arizona, after reconnecting with my two very best friends from junior high (they are in my profile pictures). The majority of my friends are in the San Fernanco Valley and, I have a few family members in, and around, the Greater Los Angeles area. At this time in my life, I am basically starting over. Can be a little bit daunting, but, I prefer to look at it as an adventure or, another road travelled.

I have lived in Vancouver, WA. The Pacific Northwest is beautiful. I really loved living there. Maricopa, AZ, not so much. Don't care for the desert. Moved there with my ex. Long story.

I feel compelled to move home. It is time. Nor Cal is beautiful, but not for me. I need a warmer climate. I miss the Santa Ana winds, the majestic Verdugo mountains, that turn purple at sunset.

I have travelled to quite a few places. I took a cruise, on an actual ship, with sails. The cruise line was called Windjammer Barefoot Cruises. The captain had a tee-shirt with the words, "It's a ship, damnit, a ship, not a boat! Cracked me up. We sailed to a few of the Leeward Islands, Saint Barts, Saint Kitts, Saba, etc. Had a blast. I helped raise the sails and, I actually got to steer the ship. Awesome experience. I would love to do it, again.

We took a month and travelled to Tahiti, Australia, New Zealand and Fiji. I did not care for Tahiti (I know, I know - what's up with that?!?!) I fell in love with Australia - we travelled to Ayers Rock. A magnificent rock in the middle of nowhere, and, up and down the East Coast of the country. So beautiful and we met many kind people on our journey.

I am a kind and considerate individual and, easy to get along with. I thoroughly enjoy enteracting with other people. Funny and, goofy, at times. I share my life with a dog and two cats. I enjoy authentic Mexican food, dining with friends, comedy clubs (laughing is a must!), blues concerts, people watching (LA is perfect for that).

My close friends would describe me as, punctual, an animal lover, quiet (at times), goofy, kind, always willing to help others, tidy (but not obsessively so), personable, easy to get along with.

This is just a little bit about me. There are many more facets to my personality. After all, at 51- years-old, I have experienced a lot of life. Stories to tell and lessons to share.

Toodles,

Victoria

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

One CS experience in Tucson, Arizona. Excellent experience, genial host, quick with the morning java (definitely a plus).

Intereses

I enjoy reading. You can always travel, for free, by reading a book. I enjoy hiking the trails, with my dog, in East Bay SF.

As I have become older and wiser, I find it is best to eat healthy foods, and, by this, I mean organically grown veggies and fruits, free-range poultry, fish. This was purely a life-change decision that works for me.

I like nature, rainy days, sunrises/sunsets, a good thunder and lightning storm. Not so crazy about snow, though.

I love coffee and books. I can spend hours in a bookstore. Just the smell of coffee and books will have me commenting, "Now, this is what I am talking about".

I love the beach. Just being around water makes me feel good. Or a day, with friends, by the pool. I enjoy taking day trips to any place fun. A meal, at a sidewalk cafe, with friends, is always ejoyable. Love to laugh, so comedy clubs are always good for that.

I am just a simple kinda gal, really. Nothing ostentatious for or about me.

Música, películas y libros

Grunge. I adore the Grunge era. 80's music, of course. No brainer, that one. Rock and blues, definitely. Some awesome blues bands, up here, in the SF area.

Chocolat. The Breakfast Club. Private Benjamin. Moonstruck. The Sting. Driving Miss Daisy. The Waitress. Party Girl. Fast Times at Ridgemont High. MIB I & II (haven't seen III, yet). Shrek I, II and III. Medicine Man (I know there are more movies - just can't think of them all right now).

Books - mysteries, autobiographies or any ol' fun read.

Algo increíble que he hecho

Viewing the Milky Way and the Northern Lights. The force of waterfalls. The beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Viewing glaciers from a tiny plane (that was kind of scary). The rainforest in Brisbane, Australia. The force of a monsoon storm. Towering redwood trees. The moments during and after an earthquake. I lived through 2 major quakes in the San Fernando Valley. Watching the night sky, while on a ship (with actual sails), in the middle of the Carribean.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

Anyone. You can always learn from anyone. There is always a lesson to learn. Sometimes, you are the teacher, and, sometimes, you are the student. You just have to be aware. Sometimes, you have to look for the lesson, but it is always there.
