About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Citizen of the world and changing paradigms
ABOUT ME
I am a recent graduate from University. I obtained my degree in Anthropology with a minor in Sociology. I have loved my time learning about the world and traveling. My study abroad in Croatia was a brilliant and paradigm changing experience.I enjoy reading, philosophizing, discussing anything and everything, drinking coffee/tea at the local coffee shop and attempting to live a more post-consumer lifestyle. I am learning how to make my own cleaning products and cosmetics. I hope to learn how to knit and play guitar in the near future. I'm fairly low maintenace and am learning more and more about just going with the flow. Every day is a learning expereince.
PHILOSOPHY
Experiencing life in as many ways possible, exchanging stories, histories, mythologies, and hugs.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Hosting, surfing, activities... there’s a lot to do here. What’s your favorite way to get involved?I would like to be involved in any way possible. My roommate is still skeptical about hosting, but I am sure we can come to and agreement. I would love to surf and would be happy to help with cleaning/cooking/any chores.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I am a beginner to this website, but I have oftentimes stayed with friends/acquaintances when I travel. I am absolutely fine with sleeping in odd places and different standards of personal privacy.
Interests
Reading, discussion with friends, drinking coffee and tea, cooking, talking with anyone and everyone and learning new things. I think everyone has something to offer and I love hearing about the expereinces of others. I loved my time at university and thouroughly enjoyed learning about anthropology and philosophy, but now its time to take my learning into the field, and experience society in all its brillance and diversity.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: off the top of my head; Wes Anderson films, Stanley Kubrick films - the Shining has to be one of the most eerie movies I have ever seen - Coen brothers, Tarentino films. I quite enjoy the film Amelie, and have loved branching out into watching foreign language films. I appreciate movies with good cinematography.
Music: I am quite varied in my musical tastes. Seems like everyone says that though. To name drop a few musicians I like; Neutral Milk Hotel, The Black Keys, Bikini Kill, Le Tigre, Sleater Kinney, Sonic Youth, Black Flag, The Dandy Warhols, Gogol Bordello, etc. I'm down to give anything a listen.
Books: I enjoy academic literature, particularly ethnographic writing and other anthropological literature. I like a lot of the "omg I'm well read classics" a la Austen, WIlde, Dostoevsky, etc. Vonnegut always has a way to make me chuckle and Douglas Adams is absolutely hilarious. 42
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My entire study abroad in Croatia. I saw Plitvice Lakes, and it was a surreal experience (seriously, google this place). I travelled by bus with 9 students and 10 professors of genetics down the coast of Croatia. We sang Croatian songs and drank homemade grappa during our coastal road-trip. I experienced meeting people from all around the world and ate new foods and alcohols I had never been exposed to before. I got behind the scenes tours of the Zagreb Archaeological Museum and the nerd inside of me was oozing with excitement.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to think and talk. I love a good discussion, from the intellectual to the mundane. There is always something more to learn. I spent my time at University learning about archaeology and cultural anthropology, so I'm usually a source of interesting factoids. I'd like to consider myself fairly resourceful and love to attempt to "do it myself" -- yielding mixed results :D
