I grew up near Vladivostok, Russia, but have moved to the U.S. 25 years ago so Washington, DC is my home now.

I am married to an awesome guy for over 10 years, who is originally from Delaware.

We both love meeting new people and talking about life, travel, cultures, and issues of the day. I enjoy good food, traveling, biking, and hiking. Brett enjoys tennis and running.

I love learning about different cultures firsthand as opposed to from Wikipedia. I view Couchsurfing as a cultural exchange (in fact, I volunteer for foreign exchange programs). I strongly favor visitors who are capable of spending the day on their own, but will also enjoy spending a few evenings with us, preferably accompanied by food and/or drinks.

I'm also willing to share my travel experience and experience growing up in Russia. I can definitely recommend a few must-see things in DC. I may be able to show you around the city in the evening depending on my work schedule.
