Overview
About Me
Hi, I’m Vignesh, but most people just call me Viki. I’m originally from India and currently living in Germany. I’ve always believed life gets richer when we share stories, not just places.
I’m curious by nature and drawn to conversations that wander into philosophy, books, art, and the small things that make us feel alive. Talking about literature over a warm cup of coffee or under a starlit sky is my kind of night. I enjoy both quiet reflective moments and spontaneous adventures.
Sports keep me grounded. Whether it’s a run, a ride, or a casual game, I love moving, exploring, and feeling the rhythm of the world around me. I believe in traveling not just to see, but to feel a place — its sounds, smells, people, and stories. I also love to make videos. I have a camera and practice the visual arts by myself.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m on Couchsurfing because I believe travel is less about ticking places off a list and more about human connection. The moments I value most aren’t landmarks, but conversations — stories shared over coffee, late-night talks under a quiet sky, or the simple feeling of understanding someone from a completely different world.
I’m naturally curious and drawn to people who enjoy thinking, reflecting, and exchanging ideas. Philosophy, books, art, life experiences — these are the things that make a place feel alive to me. I enjoy both stillness and spontaneity, whether it’s a calm evening of discussion or an unexpected adventure that unfolds on its own.
Couchsurfing, for me, is a way to experience places through people — their rhythms, cultures, and everyday lives. I try to travel with openness, respect, and genuine interest, and I bring the same energy when hosting or being hosted.
I also enjoy documenting life visually. Making videos and practicing visual storytelling helps me preserve not just what I see, but how a moment feels. Couchsurfing often gives rise to those moments — real, unfiltered, and human.
Above all, I’m here to listen, share, and learn. I believe every person carries a story worth hearing, and Couchsurfing is one of the few spaces that still encourages those exchanges in an honest way.

Music, Movies, and Books
I find it a little unfair to just list a few names here — because books, music, and films are how I breathe. But here’s a glimpse of the worlds I often wander into…
Current reads
War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy, Essays by Rabindranath Tagore, Economic Philosophic manuscripts by Karl Marx
Authors & Thinkers I love:
Fyodor Dostoevsky, Gabriel García Márquez, Friedrich Nietzsche, Hermann Hesse, Albert Camus, Rumi, Charles Bukowski, Franz Kafka, Nikos Kazantzakis, Carl Jung and the list never really ends.
Music that shapes my nights:
Pink Floyd, Ilaiyaraaja, A. R. Rahman
I have a soft spot for music that lingers long after the night ends.
Films that leave fingerprints on me:
Stanley Kubrick, Wim Wenders,
, Alejandro González Iñárritu
I like slow, poetic cinema that doesn’t scream for attention but stays quietly with you. Big fan indie, small budget movie
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Lived 30 years in a universe that’s 13.8 billion years old and am just a flicker of a match in an endless night sky.

What I Can Share with Hosts
I may not always have luxury gifts to offer, but I always bring time, presence, and genuine interest. I enjoy meaningful conversations — about life, books, philosophy, travel, art, or simply how the day went. I listen as much as I speak, and I value quiet moments just as much as deep discussions.
I’m happy to share stories from India, Germany, and my travels, and I enjoy learning about local culture through everyday experiences rather than guidebooks. If you like long walks, music sessions, late-night talks, or reflective coffee conversations, I’ll gladly join.
I also enjoy visual storytelling. If you’re interested, I can help you with simple photos or videos — capturing moments, places, or memories in a natural way. Sometimes that becomes a shared creative moment.
As a guest, I respect personal space, routines, and house rules. I’m clean, responsible, and mindful of energy — knowing when to engage and when to give space. I believe good hosting is a two-way exchange, built on trust and kindness.
Above all, I try to be present and appreciative. I believe the best thing we can share is a good conversation, mutual respect, and a moment that feels meaningful long after the journey ends.
