About Me

ABOUT ME

Well, I'm Viktor, 22(almost 23). I just finished college and flew to Cancun to travel throughout Central America, hopefully make it to South America. I have a keen interest in life and how different people live it.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm a pretty big optimist and often enjoy shitty situations. In the moment you might have a hard time, but in hindsight it's often funny. Bad decisions make great stories. Then again I usually try and wing things, which goes well most of the time. Self-fulfilling prophecies and such. Live the flow, never forget about it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I made a profile and sent some e-mails. That's it for now I guess, hopefully this will change soon.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None whatsoever, but working on it!

Interests

I'm interested in just about anything: from art to politics and philosophy to nice views. Nice views are my favourite though. Sit by a lake or on mountain, on my own or with friends and just enjoy the view.

Ever since I started travelling I've enjoyed good conversations more and more. Sometimes you just hit it off and all of a sudden you've made a new best friend. Even the regular - and at times repetitive - chitchat (where are you from, what are your plans, where've you been,...) can be good. It gives me a good idea of how people live their lives and gives me inspiration to do - or not do - similar things.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy a wide variety of music and believe that for every situation there's a right kind of music. Sometimes it's rock, sometimes it's jazz, sometimes it's house, sometimes it's soul. It all depends on the circumstances.
I really love live music, even if I don't really like the genre. There's something about it. Trumpets, trombones and drums really get to me.

Movies: A big Tarantino fan. I also enjoy stupid comedies that nobody else seems to like(Strange Wilderness, Year one, Hot rod,..).

Books: I'm trying to read more since I have time now and I can get into just about genre. It's only a matter of being well written. Favourites include - but are not limited to - Harry Potter, Chuck Palahniuk, Jack Kerouac, Hunter Thompson.

The book I liked most is Paulo Coehlo's The Alchemist. Written very simple, with a simple message, yet so beautiful and powerful.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A three month internship in Eenhana, Namibia.

Teach, Learn, Share

I think I'm always learning, teaching(a bit of a know-it-all) and correcting people when they are wrong or don't know something. It goes the other way around as well. I like to be corrected when I'm wrong.

I study product design, so if you have a specific problem I might try and help solve it.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I like to cook and don't mind doing dishes afterwards!

I love to exchange travel stories, learn more about places I haven't been and take notes for when I do go there.
