About Me

Hello! My name is Viktorija.
I was born in Latvia and moved to Scotland in 2009 - and I truly love it here. I speak Latvian, Russian, and English fluently, and I also know the basics of several other languages.

I would describe myself as friendly and open-hearted. I always try to help people, and I have deep respect for different cultures and religions. For me, all people are equal, and I strongly stand against any kind of discrimination.

I’m very interested in language exchange and cultural differences. In my free time, I love travelling, socialising, and creating events. I especially enjoy organising cultural gatherings and women’s events in my city – it inspires me to bring people together and share experiences.

At the moment, I’m studying and volunteering, teaching English basics and Scottish culture to refugees and asylum seekers. I love listening to their stories and do my best to help them feel at home in Scotland.

On Couchsurfing, I’m excited to meet locals, share cultures, practice languages, make new friends, and exchange stories. I believe every person has something unique to teach, and I love learning from others.

I also share my life with a cat and a dog – they are both very sweet and friendly. 🐾

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m on Couchsurfing because I love meeting new people, sharing cultures, and practicing languages. For me, it’s not only about travelling, but also about creating connections and friendships around the world. I enjoy exchanging stories, learning from others, and showing the beauty of Scotland to visitors.
