About Me
Hey!
We are a young couple from Finland. We are both students and live an active life mostly occupied by our studies and physical activities. We love meeting new people and prefer to spend our free time in company of others. Underneath I describe myself a bit and then my boyfriend tells something about himself as well.
Vilma:
I study interior architecture in Aalto university. I'm starting my fourth year soon! People have described me as emphatic and cheerful person. I'm very much into arts, such as painting and sculpturing. My other hobbies include yoga, jogging and dancing. I love animals a lot and have three dogs of my own. I'm interested in current topics around the world. Things such as animal rights and gender equality are close to my heart. I've been travelling a lot since a very young age, its a part of me now. I want to travel as often as possible and I kinda dislike package travelling. I want planning to restrict my traveling as little as possible. Sponatious traveling gives more opportunities! I can't wait to see what couchsurfing has to offer for me.
Jouko:
I study nursing in University of Applied sciences. I'm almost in the end of my studies so I know a bit of something by now! I currently work in foster home with kids. I'm musical and active person, I don't really play any instrument but I could talk about music all day. I'm physically active person, I know a bit about nutrition and working out and gladly talk about those subjects as well. Politics interest me very little. I would consider myself very easy going, calm and social person. I'm pretty much up for any activity I'm suggested. I've lived in capital of Finland my entire life and meeting people from different cultures has always been part of my life. I like to explore new countries deeper than eye can see. It's boring to see only what you're shown and without knowing any locals its quite hard to know what there is to see! I love that couchsurfing is giving this easy opportunity to get to know the people as well.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Me and my boyfriend Jouko are new to the couchsurfing and interested to know what is it about. :-) We are going to travel around Italy in May and hope to meet new people and learn the culture. We are interested in making friends from different countries. We think sharing ones country and culture is the greatest thing. We get to experience that a lot in the capital city of Finland. We also want to apply cultural sharing experience in our traveling. Getting to meet locals and experience the area as they do is the only way to experience a country I think. At the moment I'm not hosting in Finland, but maybe after seeing what its like to be hosted I get exited to host people myself!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The best thing I've done was a one month trip to Thailand, where I worked in local dog shelter with dozens of wonderful puppies.
Teach, Learn, Share
If you are interested to learn Finnish (probably one of the hardest languages in the world) I can teach you a few things. I have been dancing for many years so I can show you how to dance salsa, waltz, jive etc. or even a hobbit dance. Art is my passion and I´m willing to share everything I know about it and also learn new things.
