ABOUT ME

I'm fascinated by the little things: the dew on the grass, the addictive nature of cookie butter, and the twinkle in the homeless man's eye when you ask him to tell you his story. So much of the story of life is written in the margins and the footnotes, and I love to read those parts.

I love people. Big people. Small people. Young people. Old people. They make my world go 'round. They fascinate me. They make me laugh big belly-laughs that leave me gasping for air, and they make me ask the big, hard questions about the world and our place in it.

When I see people hurt, I hurt real deep. I don't like the hurt and the pain and the violence and the brokenness in this world, and I feel called by God to combat the hurt and the pain with radical acts of love. Sometimes, acts of love are big things like taking a bullet for somebody. Other times, acts of love for people are small like hosting a stranger on your couch. I want to plenty of both.

PHILOSOPHY

1. I live my life for the one who has given me life.
2. Life is best lived with others. Community is essential.
3. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

I'm new to this community, but my first experience in Bern, Switzerland with Sam and his buddies was legendary. I wanted to be a part of this.

I want to learn to make things with my hands. I also want to learn how other people think about the big questions of the universe like "why are we here?" "where are we going?" and "is there anybody out there?"

I can teach you how to be a college bum, write a mediocre blog post, or rollerblade.
