Hi everyone! My name is Vincent and I proudly live in Montreal! I am a lot interested in cities, their planning, their architecture, their parks, but most of all their places... places being defined for me as the spaces in a city where people from different profiles come together to take charge and give a life and a personality to such a space. I really think that the combination of such spaces in a city that makes it a fun, interesting and successful place in the world where humans have the opportunity to fulfill themselves. For this reason, my main travelling pattern is to wander around streets and neighborhoods until I am amazed by some great urban landscape or some vibrant street corner, plaza, lane, market, etc... This is the main reason why I love Montreal : I can feel this vibe while moving around the city, not just in the Old Montreal, downtown or in the Plateau... Each neighborhood atmosphere is different. I am so greatful to live in such a city, which makes me « hungry » to find more amazing and different spaces around the world.
Even if I admit to be first of all a urban creature, I really like to discover all the natural beauty of mountains, lakes, rivers, etc... I love hiking : the physically challenging journey as well as the amazing landscapes that I can find on the top of a valley (I strongly recommand Mansfield Mount if you are ever in Vermont in the nord-east of USA or south of Quebec, it is breathtaking).
To end this, a quick peak of a few of the great places I've been in the world (I can't stress enough how this is insufficient for me... working on that ;) ) : Chicago, New York, Shanghai, Beijing, Boston, Toronto, Washington, Xi'an. Can't wait to go to England, Wales (maybe), Scotland, Ireland (both) this summer and Peru next autumn!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I realized way too late in my life that travelling might be the best way to learn and enjoy the world and all of its beauties as well as to discover myself and grow as an individual, through the connections being established with others and other culture. So I am really looking foward to meet new people, exchange life and trip stories, get tips (as well as giving some) on great places to go (in your city as well as around the world!), finding hidden gems of your city... Basically I am really looking foward to find people who are proud of their city and interested in sharing its awesomeness with a fun and easygoing Montrealer!
