I am a recently graduated, 25 year old American man with a bachelor’s degree in Cognitive Science and a master’s degree in computer science from Stanford University. I identify as a first-gen, low-income, neuro-divergent immigrant from a family of war refugees from Viet Nam. I am interested in the role technology can play in bridging mental health accessibility gaps in historically marginalized populations such as: low-income, incarcerated, refugee, disabled, and BIPOC communities. I will not have the opportunity to travel for an extended period of time after I start my job in August. When I travel, I do not really enjoy being a foreign tourist and doing tourist-y things; I would rather get to know a place through what the locals experience, doing work that the people there do, or spending time with local people rather than my own group. While I have freedom and mobility, I want to experience the world, get out of my comfort zone, and build new connections. I have a lot of experiences, stories, laughter, and wisdom to share with others. I'm looking for opportunities for a reciprocal exchange of culture, memories, laughter, education, and new friendship.
