About Me

Well, hello there. I'm a 19-year old girl who is still figuring out what life is all about. I doubt I'll ever figure it out, but at least I can say I've scratched the surface; or at least tried.

As of right now, I'm still on my gap year (I graduated high school last year). This year has been full of wonders and new discoveries as I've been travelling to the US, Japan, Korea, and Vietnam. After every trip, I've learned more about myself and I am forever grateful to the people I have met on my journeys. I start what would be the equivalent to med school in February and as such I decided to spontaneously book a solo-trip to Korea, because why not?

I love being active, out and about and appreciating nature. I am especially fond of hiking and boxing. Though this is so, I am also completely content with staying indoors, watching movies and just having nice conversations.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As I booked my solo trip to Korea, I wondered... What is the best way to experience how locals live? What is the best way to talk with real locals and experience Korean culture from within? My number one goal with my solo trip is to talk with as many Koreans in Korean as possible! I considered going on a bus and just randomly talking with strangers, but then I found Couchsurfing and thought that was a great opportunity!

Interests

I have relatively many hobbies; learning languages, working out, investing/finance, reading books, playing the piano (not really), and travelling!

  • working out
  • investing
  • hiking
  • learning languages
  • manga
  • reading books
  • discussing

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite music... I enjoy all genres, I believe, but right now I enjoy listening to Urban Zakapa, Dean, and Loco. My favorite singer is Sohyang! I discovered her while watching the show "King of Masked Singer". She's such a great soprano. I do occassionally listen to Korean pop. Also, I really enjoy listening to hiphop or heavy metal whenever I work out.

As for books, I really love classics and fantasy books. Recently I finished Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoesky and I found it very interesting. One of my favorite classics have to be Anna Karerina by Leo Tolstoy though. As for fantasy books, it's mostly just YA books. Also, I have been reading manga since middle school which is how I learned English, pretty much. I freaking love manga. My favorite mangas are.... Hm, it's hard to choose. Might be Magi - Labyrinth of Magic or Kare Kano. I also read a lot of webtoons; Noblesse, Tower of God, Lookism, Cheese in the Trap...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hm, all the things I've done I personally find amazing, no matter how mundane they might seem.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach some Danish and some Vietnamese if interested. I'm currently learning how to cook and I might be able to cook Vietnamese food for you, but mind you... I am terrible in the kitchen...
I can also share a part of my culture(s), born and raised in Denmark to Vietnamese parents! I am eager to learn about Korean culture (which is why I'm learning Korean), so come at me, Korea!!!

I quite enjoy listening to stories and talking, so I'd love to hear what you have to share!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm talkative if need be and also a very curious person. And yes, I do drink; quite enjoy it sometimes actually. Also, I can offer an insight into two cultures, namely Vietnamese and Danish!
