ABOUT ME

I am currently working on my Bed at Ottawa U, hoping to be teaching English and History at the highschool level this time next year. I like to read, write, listen to music and play chess. I love hockey, but enjoy being active in general. I have backpacked Europe with 2 friends, lived with numerous combinations of people throughout Toronto, and am currently living with 3 people that I just met in Ottawa.

PHILOSOPHY

I want to help mould the world in a postivie way. I try to experience as much as I can, through many different avenues and by many different means. I try to maintain an open mind at all costs, and hope to help others do the same.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hoping to host some people that want to come visit Ottawa. I just co-hosted a CS house party with my new house-mates.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My only real encounter was at the party. I met a lot of interesting people that I'm sure I will see again. I really enjoyed the chance to hang out with quite a few people that were from different parts of my country, and from other countries as well.

Music, Movies, and Books

Much of the time that I spend reading is devoted to completing books that are involved with my studies (English lit, history, education). I have a subscription to adbusters and have read many editions. I love all authentic music, typically regardless of genre. I am becoming more interested in world music, but primarily end up listening to Radiohead, Matt Good, Neil Young, or The Beatles.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Of the few truly amazing things that I've done, sky-diving is clearly at the top of the list. Falling from the sky is quit exhilerating to say the least, but I found the true enjoyment in the transition of feeling that I experienced when my parachute opened. Never have I felt so alive before. Backpacking Europe for three months was incredible. I saw amazing things, met some people who have become great friends, and saw the world through different eyes.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have been formally educated (whatever the fuck that means [hahahahhaha]) in English and have a sound understanding of many types of literature. I believe I possess the ability to remain confident and open-minded, especially under pressure and stress. I am currently attempting -though sadly- to learn the guitar.
