About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Find something worth fighting for

ABOUT ME

patchwork:

once me and three other crazy russians walked from one out-of-the-way breton village to another. in the middle of the night. in the winter. guided by stars

i consider bicycle as the best way to explore new places. cars are too fast and feet are too slow.

touching, hugging and... long knitted scarfs - the joy of tactile learner

i've learned my english with the Beatles and Queen. so now i may misunderstand something, but i can sing anything : )

i translated Garfield comic strips to russian. they say me and garf have the same sense of humour

i've learned to be true to myself. it gets your life more complicated

once i waltzed with my boyfriend, now i'm learning tango : )

i left my job at the age of 27 and made my own little business. i left my own little business at the age of 34 and now i'm thinking about what to do next

PHILOSOPHY

hedonist

Interests

- Cycling, especially in new places
- Social dance evenings - i've been to many, i've organised many
- Couple dances - face to face, hand in hand, heart to heart, the dance for two - what can be better than that?
- Swiming - i still can't get used to sea
- Playing games - the only thing i'm expert in. The last good game I played was the live chess party in the center of Moscow, dedicated to Carroll's Looking-Glass adventures: http://www.newstube.ru/media/bol%27shaya-zazerkal%27naya-partiya-v-shaxmaty

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm not really into movies. There're several ones I quite fond of, but nothing more. Most of them are Russian. Favourite foreign movies include 'Der Himmel über Berlin', 'Mujeres al borde de un ataque de nervios' and 'Zazie dans le Metro'. And there's a really great TV-show 'Six Feet Under'

I love music in all her melodic ways, I can't stay in one genre for long. But sometimes I can stick to one melody or song for several days.
There're two thing in music I love most: Soviet movies' soundtracks and dance music of Brittany.

I prefer humanistic books about life. Something like 'Dandelion wine' by Ray Bradbury or 'Stranger in a Strange Land' by Heinlein. And I often read and re-read everlasting tales for kids, like Tove Jansson's Moomins or Miln's Pooh

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Amazing dones:
Made a school of Irish dancing from scratches.

Amazing seens:
Scotland, the real fairy land
Skolvan, the best folk band
Sea, the mother of life
Douarnenez, all Bretagne in one town

Teach, Learn, Share

I know many folk dances. My favourite dances now are breton. I can teach breton dances, irish ceili dances, scottish ceilidh and country dances. I love waltzes and mazurkas, them I may share with a special pleasure.
I started to study tango, so I want learn more of this sensitive dance.
